by r k on Aug 21, 2007 01:51 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

In every State each One will respect others..like Take respect and Give respect Policy...But this doesn't happen In Karnataka,,,If any One doesn't Know about Kannada to speak...there are lots of People to comment him not encouraging them to learn...this as a Kannadiga i had Seen lots of People suffer like this...This things should be Prevented...by Our Great Indoers..Kannada Rakshana Vedika....Bangalore is Only City that shelters All State people...but the above said thing is a regular scene that can be seen while going in a bus....or anyother place...kannada speaking people commenting the Non Kannada speakers....when this People are going to learn how to respect....others...

Hey he is not a hero. He is a comedian. And this movie will be a guaranteed utter flop. Such movies will not run in Karnataka. It will loose deposit

Mr amit first thing first.. nothing against maharashtra or matatis..we were just reacting to a one stupid lady by name smitha who instigated this flow of heated/hatred messages by writing derogatory abt kannada.. we do know the contribution of maratis..

RE:dont spit on the sun

Mr.Amit.
Malleshwari the 1996 olynpic medelist is from Andhra Pradesh.
It is not faire to divide the great personalities statewise, in that way we can have a long list for Karnataka and Andhra asweel (only these two I know for some extent).
But ofterall we are Indians we have to be together, we have to learn to respect each other Language, then only our spirit of "unity in diversity" will be meaningfull.

Kannada has one of the best theatre in India. It is the place of theatre persons like B V Karanth, Prasanna, Girish Karnad etc. Even today ours like Marathi is one of the most vibrant theatres in the country. I think you are not educated abt the theatres outside Marathi. Pls do a study before commenting. To my knowledge Kannada, Marathi and Bengali along with Hindi are some of the best thetres in India. Remember again Kannada here too is in the forefront. Get educated

Thank you rediff
by Vinay Joshi on Aug 06, 2007 12:47 PM  Permalink

I thank rediff for giving credence and information about and to the Kannada film industry and its movies. I believe kannadiga readers were quite dormant before, but now many have started posting their comments. If we ourselves do not support and take pride in the language, how do we expect to save it (It is one of the dying languages). Be a patron of kannada literature, of its movies and everything. I again thank rediff for giving enough coverage about karnataka and kannada movies.

Marathi Films
by smita shah on Aug 06, 2007 11:31 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Because of the metropolitan and non-jingoistic and accomodative climes of Mumbai, everyone who has films in mind came here since the 1910s. The hindi film industry grew and grew here, it became so huge that like a shrub cannot survive under a banyn tree, marathi film industry weakened under its shadow. who r the people running the hindi film industry by the way? 70 percent technicians...from make-up men to actors, they r from maharashtra. so hindi film industry is in a way the child of maharashtra.

good joke smitha! 70% film ppl are from maharashtra? can u just tell one big star who is a marathi??yeah chunk of spot boys and make up ppl may be locals and locals means not necessarily maratis..but big ppl either in acting category, direction, music, producition houses.. its just ruled by chopras ,kapoors, khans and they have nothing to do with marati.. instead of critisising others do ur contribution to marati industry in ur own way..thats more meaningful
