Muzzafarali has depicted Umrao in her original form in all its beauty and ecstacy with the delivery of URDU dialogues in a superb manner as it was to be then in his time. Now, as JP D says it is not the remake of the earlier one but something different; IT HAS TO BE NATURALLY a different in ALL RESPECTS. And I am sure everyone will like this UMRAO also the same way as they did before. Maybe even much much better at the BOX OFFICE,
Ash is good model plus actress, but to compare with Rekha is not good Rekha is Rekha who give a lot as an actress but not as an model like ash. So their is not comparisons between both of them. Let us see and comment The New Umrao Jaan.
Please people..she looks pretty...but not sensuos ..in an indian way. to emulate the sensuosness of those dark eyes...ash looks rather pale in comparision. any east european girl can look like that.
In my opinion, Ash is the only actress who can do justice with such a complex role. It is sad that Madhuri is not into acting any more otherwise she would definitelly be first choice.
I do not think, preity (a glamour doll), Rani (could be second choice but lacks in voice),priyanka no.. can do justice to the role.
The only other actress, which i can think of in today's times is Bipasha Basu, I think she still not got the right director. She has the ability to perform with eyes.
but ultimately JP has done a nice job, Ash is the only one from current lot who can do this job, Her eyes speaks.. a lot see Raincoat, dev daas, Hum Dil..etc.
and as beuty is concerned, we saw kajrare, my god..how she performed..
small B is also the right choice for the role and they will look great together, shabana is great..I only doubt Arshad role in the movie..they should have given it to Saif or ajay.
I feel, As he did in past, JP will definitelly make a great movie.
