Yesterday I watched new Don second time. Throughout the movie I was trying to figure out what was so wrong with the movie-which I may have failed to spot when I watched it first time-that most of the critics are crying their hearts out so loud and bashing this movie!!! And what a disappoint it turned out to be! I couldn't find a single blemish!!!
As far as script is concerned, it's 90% loyal to Old Don's screenplay and pacing is as good as old one. Anybody saying that movie is slow,,is automatically saying that the old Don is a slow paced movie which is not the case. You feel that pace is slow because you know what is coming (if you have watched old don that is),, so you feel like getting over the known things quickly and want to charter to the unknown territory ASAP, but it wouldn't happen as the twist is almost in the end!! So you find it slow paced, because all the goings on are familiar. Anybody not having watched the old Don, will find this movie very well paced!!! Just try to figure out by asking a few who is not familiar with the old Don and you'll know what I mean!! ...Continue....
Amitabh Bachchan is an actor who did DON in the late seventy's. Period. Shahsukh Khan is another actor who has done the new DON. Period. Where's the comparison? Is Shahrukh going on rooftop's claiming his DON is better? Or are the new-DON makers claiming likewise? If there's something called 'patent rights' then that should be taken care of, bas!
Double Thums up for Farhan akhtar.. kick ass movie.. smart job frm excel ent.. Film Mixing was excelent..Cinematography ka kya kehna..U should'nt watch a movie keeping in mind of some other movie.. Both the Don ( Old And new ) Is excel in their way..those who r saying its not good.. they shud stop watching movie..
I couldn't digest the fact that Farhan who could churn out flawless movie like 'Dil chahta hai' could come out with such a dampening remake like Don. To start with, the introduction of the Don himself was so disappointing can you imagine a character like the Don using a low featured V3i !! I expected atleast a grand introduction to the Don. Maybe Farhan could have taken a cue from Nicholes Cages character Castor Troy in FaceOff where Cage is ready to take off at the airport after planting a bomb.
I think DON is one of the worst film made by FARHAN & acted by SRK.
I think Farhan has made DON just as heis playing with a toy. Now a days people think that they can sell any movie by showing SRK on screen.
It would be INSULT of BIG B's DON movie to compare with the new SRK's DON movie.
Isha Koppikar, OM puri are just for a hake...i think they shud be called GUEST appearance.
Also all characters are introduced just so simply., with no thrill at all..atleast farhan shud have shown SRK's 2nd character with some thrill & same with DOn character also.
I think FARHAN shud learn some lessions from EKTA KAPOOR for introducing characters. She does it so well...& u get THrilled with the characters.
Where as in this movie main thing which is missing is a THRILL.
what all i liked is last scene of movie where SRK reveals his originality.
while marketing movie people talked a lot abut gadgets used in this movie etc...Watch that SRK used....but thr is hardly one scene whr SRK uses that watch in starting of the movie.

FARHAN u have disappointed all your fans.....Dil CHahta Hai- Lakshya was a qulity cinema...& DON is the pooor product of u.
Ya totally agree with the readers who say that the SRK bashing is in these days. I'm not a fan of SRK especially after watching KANK ! However, to give credit where it is due, DON IS A NICE MOVIE and all credit goes to FARHAN AKHTAR.
