i was really very disapointed to watch DON of 2006. it was really very boring. was just looking at the watch time and again . the movie had nothing new to offer . a very bad copy of the 70's classic. shahrukh acted well. ( heard that farhan akhtar cast him because he needed a mature lokk who looks like don) if that so farhan u quit directing movies. nyweays some dailogues are good . overall a disappointing movie.
like it has become famous saying now " NAYE DON KO JHAELNA MUSHKIL HI NAHIN NAMUMKIN BHI HAI"
Well, if you can accuse Farhan Akhtar of trying to build on the original.. wat do u say of ur review which speaks so much abt comparision. Agreed that the twists might be flawed.. but look at the plusses.. SRK acting out the bad guy with elan.. c'mon very rarely does a viewer loves being a bad guy..n this is exactly one situation. The production values set a bench-mark.barr the one scene aping con-air.They r a big leap ahead from the slow motion psuedo acrobactics from Dhoom... and y does every one yell so much over a plot..when a movie like DHOOM sold itself making fools of every viewer. Atleast Farhaan did try to take u for an intelligent viewer. guesss wat wud have been the review if he matched every frame with the old movie.. PSST NEW DON OFFERS NOTHING NEW.. Get over it buddy(Mr.Raja Sen). agreed the FIG B's baritone is missing.. but yes.this is real stylish keeps u on ur toes film.which atleast respects the intelligent viewer. Don't just dwell on the past. embrace the present.and it belongs to SRK(atleast regards to the film).so enjoy the car chases. INDIA's answer to RONIN.
All said and done Mr. Bacchan's voice still rings in my ears(Don ki dushman ka sabse badi..)
the camera work in the movie was simply superb. hardly u ll find such a wonderful cinematography in indian movies.... the music was also simply superb.... i think everyone should watch the movie in theatres only to enjoy the camera work...
It was nostalgic movement to see Don (srk- roma ) after 28 years , i m yet 2 see old one,recently.. but just wanted to see new one on first day n i saw it.but regret what a mess up! by farhan n it kills seeing talent going waste! anyways .if i recall my teen ( now 42 ) , we all went to see movie 4 two reason amitabh n dance of helen.....sheer disaponitment not to see yeh hain bombai nagaria song ..phps there was adialouge by pran ji jake rakho saiya maar sake no koi......
nothinh worth seeing except roma n khayike paan song to me.....
