In today's music world, if one song is a hit, the composer keeps churning the same kind of stuff. The most apt example is that of Himeshji who has been composing the same kind of songs after Ashiq banaya aapne became a hit. But Rahman has always been experimental and has tried his best to give something new in his every offering. By staying away from the latest popular trends in music, he has always created music of lasting value.
As always, we would have some smart reviewer thinking that he knows Music, buddy you are the ppl who think that Apna Sapna Money money is fun because you can pay it at parties, gawd. This is classy (read 5 stars), Barso Re is an uptempo song where you hardly recognise that it is Shreya, amazing, fusion of dhol and Synthesizer. Tere Bina, the Best no one can do it better than Rahman. Mayya, can teach some of our composers not to copy Middle eastern music but feel the same. Ek Lo Ek Muft will grow once the film gets released. Jaage Hain, again a masterpiece, our first taste of orchestra harmony. So reviewer, pls do your homework, try and review some indi-pop albums and pls revise rating to 5 stars
Listen to the music for some more time. You will get into the skin of the songs and then u will appreciate it. Just saying "typical" is absurd and ridiculous.

I completely agree with you himesh is one of the person who keeps on repeating the same beats and tune.No wonder most of them hate him now (which includes me).and anyway A.R.R has made gud music,he is making gud music, and he'll remain making gud music which are just mind blowing, awesome
The music Review will completely change after the the release od Guru because rahmans situational music will catch the masses only after watching the movie, Guru's music is outstanding.......
I wonder, why rediff has no one who qualifies to be a music reviewer. There is no mention about Gulzar saab's poetry. and the review of music is as if he is doing it for to get the next pay check.. guys, if u want to write something about a piece of art, have some passion for it. its not like flirting with the one in next cubicle.. you gotta have some knowledge in the subject that you are talking about. geeee.. get a life!
and btw, ARR,Gulzar and Maniratnam, once again created a beautiful album.. this one redefines everything.. nothing like whatever u heard in the recent times. if u like serious music, without nasal accents and lifted tunes.. some one else's compositions in some malik's names, go for it.. this music is way ahead of bollywood or indian music industry.. and ofcourse.. these bunch of reviewers in rediff just don't have that sense to understand it. thats all.
Guru's sounntrack is a refreshing change from all the hyped up music which is around us.rahman and ratnam combination have delivered the best soundtrack of the year esp tere bina, barso re are superb compositions, probably tere bin being the best in the year. Jaage hain is truly inspirational stuff and really soothing. Kudos to mani and team to live upto to expectations , looking eagerly to the release of the movie.
