I think nowadays A.R.Rehman is not at all interested in his old style.he always tries for the new outputs. The statement in the review is very true that his recent songs are become more popular only after the release of the movie. Now he tries his best to give justice to the script than the trend in the music industry. His last tamil film Sillinru oru kadal also features this style. We can't expect a song like Mumbai vaa sung by shreya ghoshal in a recent tamil movie.
who said its average. if you keep listening music and ar rahman voice everyone feels in heaven.
myself died and born atonce while listening ar rahman voice in jaage hain song and tere bina ey hairathe.

Plz listen rahmans sound tracks carefully and then review what you want be cool man he his diffrent he his music himself he his different composer in whole world. We listener alway behind him he never score bad misic please remember that.
Definitely a nice collection of soundtracks.. Some of the songs have a definite Rahman hangover.. Felt Mayya touted to be Ms. sherawat's addition to Guru has a definite Dil Se hangover and some other tamil songs of rahman.. Couldn't recollect which but seems to have a familiar tone..
Guru is a another past period film. May 50's or 70's. Still i will be see a difference in AR Rahman's music always stand out in midst of all other contemporary music around in bollywood. No one can forgot Rang De Basanti's music which is super duper hit.
Still ARR is the only man who always tries different tunes and orchestration and always comes out successful.
