hahahahaha no a single incident where i think people would get scared, each and every horror episode is Worts a Laugh, So if not intrested to laugh then plz avoid this movie.
I have to say that RGV has maintained his high standards of direction. I can understand why many people did not like this film. They are so used to watching the mundane hindi films with a mother-daughter theme, a karva chaud scene thrown in, garrish music, and loud extravagent rich families who have nothing to do but plot and scheme all day, that its difficult for them to comprehend the real purpose of this film. Yes, its true that we need to fear 'fear' itself. Hats off to RGV for a brillant film and i hope he keeps his creative juices flowing, atleast for that small audience who are sick of our non creative directors in the indian film industry. And i should add that Sen's review is very amateurish. We dont need him to say that amitabh is the most brilliant actor/star of all times. He must have something personal against Arjun Ramphal, as i thought Arjun was very good in this film.
I think Raja Sen doesnt know his work... He is the worst of the lot. He is clearly biased.. bcos RGV is a favorite of his doesnt mean that he can give 3 stars to a crapy movie like darna zaroori hai...
I think rediff needs a change. I guess I can do the job a lot better and without any bias.
This is a wrong review, the film sucks!! only 2-3 stories are good!1 it is as bad as darna mana hain ramu cant prove his point again!! bad movie dont watch
Raja Sen, were you drunk while writing this review, or you did't watch it before writing your review. I totally agree with all of the comments. I decided to watch the movie after reading Raja's review. Trust me the movie is really "BaKwAas". This is one of the worst movie I have ever seen. The only best part of the movie is it is not long like its other hindi counterparts. I would agree with Raja on the acting department since all of the actors have done a good job but all the story sucks. Worst part is Amitabh's story is really stupid. I have seen that rediff writers blindly praise RGV movies.
Dont watch this one and wait for the DVD, I am sure it will be out soon
here is one "scary movie" that simply does not scare you at all !! every single episode of this so called "portmanteau" is so utterly predictable.. there are some fine moments but on the whole the film recreates every single cliche known to the genre of bollywood "horror" movies.. the graveyard, "amavas ki raat" ( give me a break pleeese ) , the old granny, the hitchhiker girl, the "bhatakthi aatma" etc etc.. the insurance guy is new but the episode is badly directed! the big B episode is well directed (strokes of a skilled director are clearly visible) and well acted but unfortunately does not make any sense !! also, the guy who plays the inspector in the last episode is brilliant !! ( who is he? )
the film ends on a hilarious note !!... the last episode featuring hooda had me in splits !!
summing up, a couple of good moments but on the whole a very disappointing venture from the factory !
if you want to see a real horror movie , rent a video of "the omen", or "the blairwitch project" !!
