I browse Rediff daily (even hourly) for the news, business, sports, and movies. Your site is excellent, no doubt in that, but in the case of movie reviews you are still far behind or I think you dont have the correct man to write a review. I am observing from the past 1 year regularly, but I see no improvement. Almost 98% of your reviews are negative and you dont prefer people to watch those movies. But I want to say I have seen almost all the movies which you reviewed negatively and some of them are really good and they are box office hits also. Also I observe there is a bias of bollywood and southern movies in your reviews focussing more on one and leaving other. I watch Hindi, English, and telugu movies.
Hi All, first of all I would like to thanks you all for initiating the step for critising the so-called CRITIC(Mr. D'Souza) who just writes the movie reviews according to his mood(Well, this might be wrong). REDIFF is my most fav website, I visit rediff.com around 10 times in a day and read almost all the article and news which concerned to my intrest. Movie review is the downfall of REDIFF site, which has been always below standard as far as my opionion is concern. I dont know what may be the problem with the QA dept of the REDIFF Management. I would like to see REDIFF on the top for every information it provided to its user. Please take some serious step in this regard.
Being a critic does not mean u always strip down a movie to the shreds, maybe thats the reason people are leaving theaters rather than going ahead and watching one. you have turned a well made movie into a poor one with your words which itself is disrespect to the work done by the director, if you consider urself a so better judge why don't you make a movie and let us judge. Waqt is a good movie included with good performances and a good story line wonderfully executed and ensures that the viewer does not choke up in between. i have seen the movie so am critisizing you
I do feel sorry for your job of having to every single movie released and write about it. But you are getting paid for it, arent you? So, why not write what the movie is about and preferebly, a few of its plus points, like the camera work, small time actors making it big, etc. instead of just trying to write off every movie released off the face of this planet? A good critic is supposed to criticise a film positively.
I suppose if you taste my cooking and write a review, you would say I should have added a pinch more of salt in my salted buttermilk, or my chilli pakoda has one chilly too many?
I grew up reading reviews on the national newspapers and today, I find a stark contrast in the entire content and presentation for the ones being posted here. Dear reviewers, please change your style of reviewing the movies. If that is not possible, then dear Rediff, please change the reviewers. This is another dear request from another rediff fan. Thanks.
hey this guy of yours, he thinks the easiest way to make it big is by writing some trash and hoping that ppl would find it amusing, grow up. u need to appreciate things when they r good.
I think the critic was actually lenient. This is the single crappiest movie I have seen in the past year, maybe with the exception of Veer Zaara and Kisna!
I think the people posting on the website are unnecessarily criticising the critic of the movie...i dont think the tastes of any two people can be the same....everyone may have their own views and its not necessary that the vies should match with those of the film critic...i completely agree with what the critic has to say....the only time i had disagreed with the rediff critic was for swades.... well as for waqt nothing great or special in the movie...
