Indeed it's the lethargy on the parts of the political leaders in the Maharashtra who lacked forsightedness, and we lost such a prestigious project to West Bengal. Poll survey indicates that the common people want it but due to political rivalary the project will be doomed.

Considering the price of 1 lakh, at which Mr. Ratan Tata wishes to sale the Nano, the project could go Uttaranchal or to other state where central excise duty is fully exempted. If it goes to Kerala etc., the price of Nano will not be less than 1.5 lakhs.

Shame of Politicians.....
by ponraja singh on Sep 02, 2008 08:29 PM  Permalink

Its very disheartening to accept that Our Industrial growth has to depend on politicians, When an invention like Nano is about to transform the automobile industry and going to extend its impact in the society, politicians are playing a very cheap role. If a person like TATA is facing such a situation, what will be the situation for small investors and small business people....? Very hard to digest....You politicians are playing with the future of young Indians. India should feel bad enough because of your birth.

Revenge of Congress !!!
by Sunit Kumar on Sep 02, 2008 08:27 PM  Permalink

The same left which opposed tooth and nail for the 123 deal and made congress beg, the same left wanted investment in their state, so what does congress do, give money to mamta and see what happened, dont you think Tata/ other industrialists did not know this, they knew thats why all said dont bring in politics !!

Bottom line, Karat got to bite congress and congress actually took a bite !!

mamta is a black spot in the name of Bengalis.Bengalis pride themselves in having the brightest of intellectual thinking.....but this nonsense lady has tarnished that entire image.with whom all she formed the TMC,all have deserted her. Now the new members in her gang almost all are having bad & dirty track record.namely, mamta herself-failure railway minister, aparna sen- she had to change her surname more than once, medha patekar- all through a big failure, parhto chatterjee, madan mitra, anuradha talwar, amar singh, somen mitra- are all having no hold in bengal politics.we should (WB people) form a group to throw away such parasites.we will see that these culprits are eliminated immediately so that the unemployed youth can see a better future

Your statement will not be complete if you don't mention the contribution of the left front for making WB one of the dangerous for investment. We are obsserving there is no different between the communists ideology and the Mamata's action. Both are opposite side of a same coin.
Today we able to see so much media highlight on the Nano issue. But what about those industries which were closed by bloody unions.
So if you want to see better future of Bengal then you don't have any alternative.

Mamta and the hard core Communists are two sides of the SAME coin! No indiustry can come up in Bengal till the Commies are booted out! [Buddha is an exception
among the Commies and he should start a NEW Party.

by Ravan on Sep 02, 2008 08:27 PM  Permalink

TATA just suspended the work. CPM have the last laugh. They can claim they tried to chnage Bengal's image, but the stupid witch came in between and now let bengal suffer.... Now Mamta have no choice, she will be ready for compromise, govt will throw some money to the farners, TATA will continue, left will win elections, Mamta will still be roaming in Singur and Nandigram like a crazy b88ch... Thats the end of the story...

It's hats off now and soon it'll be shirts / pants / meals off for some people in WB & India who are also part of the real masses. Mamata would continue to have her home at Kalighat and her staple meal of fish curry & rice.
