Even if they dont pull out, this is a signal. I think lets look at the signal as it itself can be significant

Industrialists may choose a state where there are getting the land cheeper and looking after the fecilities provided by the governaments. The tatas getting the land cheeper in bengal is the reason to choose the W.bengal. Even new MNC's may choose bengal on these reasons. I dont think new guys may not come to Bengal again, or they think 100 times before choosing the Bengal.So mamata saving a 100 formers diched the total bemgal.

Mamta is against 1000 acres and not 600 acres!Many MNcs will settle and prefer 600 acres for worthy projects than Nano !The Nano will not survive as viable project !And Tatas r already having plants at Pune and Pant Nagar and to come up at Singur is for land only ! With Bajaj also entering one lac car and with so many cars around Indian market and oil prices soaring high and higher any car project is vulnerable to competition! Even Videocon chief Venugopal Dhoot too said that he is investing in West Bengal 15000 crores in West Bengal in steel and power plants he says” For all all mynprojects we r ready to offer three alternatives –Cash-Jobs-Or shares .We do not want to exploit farmers.” So if Dhoot of Videocon can talk directly to farmers why not Ratan Tata! And it is the same Ratan Tata who negotiated with Workers Union of Corus for enhancement of salaries , insurance to Corus workers to acquire Corus with high bidding! Why report for abuse ! Yes it is fact that Mamta Bannerjee was one of the 150 MPs who signed the PEPSI –Tata project for Agro projects in India and bringing Pepsi in India !And Pepsi after getting entrenched in Cola business paid Tatas –voltas –49 crores and separated them from the Pepsi cola business!So Who is the conduit for MNCs in India !And Tatas know Mamta and r in connivance with Mamta to delay the Nano and Singur Nano is only delayed and suspended!And one can not forget that Mamta was one of the 150 MPs who signed the recommendation for Pepsi agro pro

TATA WILL LEAVE SIGNUR, IF THE MAMTA AGITATION IS NOT OVER! WHEN THE STRIKE WAS GOING ON IN TELCO, PUNE AN ULTIMATUM WAS GIVEN BY SHRI TATA ABT SHIFTING OF THE PROJECT OUT OF MAHARASHTRA TO LUCKNOW ETC. AND HE REALLY MEANT IT. POLITICIANS SHOULD NOT TASTE THE PATIENCE OF SHRI TATA. IF HE DECLARES TO SHIFT, HE WILL NOT REVERSE HIS DISCISION.

Mamta was one of the 150 MPs who signed the recommendation for Pepsi agro project and was paid 5 lacs by Tatas who helped PEPSI to enter India thru Voltas Limited!This is trick by Tatas in connivance with Mamta to delay the Nano project and get Singur land at throw away price and give reasons for delaying the Nano project and raising Nano price after the launch of few hundreds cars by siting reasons that delay caused price rise!

You think you can compare Kolkata with other metros.It's dead place as far as any industry coming up. WB has always been a state which lagged behind..Look at Maharashtra,Haryana and now Uttranchal
You think someone will buy land just to rake in moolah in the next 15-20 yrs knowing well that nuthing much can happen in WB.

And what about Mumbai !Where is the Industries!TextrileMills!why even bomaby dyeying shifted to rural areas and is trying to devlop mumbai land for Mall!And land is more costlier in Kolkat ask any real estate agent!But why report for abuse when I just wanted to answwer ur query!

@guest if u take away the tax free status of the Uttranchal no industry may go there! And the industries in tax free-esxcise duty free zone exist til the tax waiver is there!Today most Pharma industries r shifting to Himachal and Uttaranchal because of tax free-excise duty free zone!Punjab is not tax free zone and so there also no new industry goes there too !But Tatas will not leave Singur!Reasons r many !

Absolutely..I think Nano will now move to Rudrapur as they already have the facility since they manufacture ACE from there and not to forget the team is the same which created both Nano and ACE..
and Rudrapur is a wonderful place..Has changed so much in the last couple of years...No wonder,Unitech, DLF are already there..They would soon have a 5 Star Hotel and they already have a airport.. This place is the biggest boom town with investment valued to be around $3 Billion Dollars
Tata's bold move will suppress other Mamta's copycats to resurrect similar agitations. We need innovators like Tatas and not stupid protesters like Mamta, who is nauseatingly disgusting.

Mamata (again the question of name arises) as she has no Mamata for the people of West Bengal, and do you think she resigned from the ministry to serve the masses (look the way she is serving the masses) than you are living in a fools paradise. She resigned only to please the Muslim vote Bank after the Gujrat riot. Well the people of West Bengal deserve leaders like her only. Let them move in a Tanga and live in the 19th century. The Govt. of West Bengal also opposed the computerization and see where West Bengal stands today in the IT industry compare to other states. God bless the people of BEST BENGAL.:)
