Kolkatta is the 4 th among the 4 metro in india.Kolkatta have many advantages but still not developed due to politics & people of WB. Foolish bengalis don't want india's great tata to produce world cheapest car. people say, many of the bengalis are negetive minded. Now it is clear that they are negetive minded. Tata will get a excellent invite from other state. Tata will get the retuns, but who will bear the loss for bengalis.Mamta or WB govt or land owners? I think tata should come to Gujrat or maharastra or karnataka or AP or TN

Dont MIX up serious things with silly fans of silly game called cricket. Cricket had died in the last century. what we see today is a baseball cricket like the American pro-football. Fans are always fanatics the world over. Mumbai or Hyderabad for hat matter anyplace else is no better. Who had pelted Dravid's home? Dont be a confirmed fool. Dont put in poppycock like a popinjay.

What is the need for all this industrialisation in Bengal? If the Bengalisthemselves do not want it, let Bengal remain an agricultural state. It may also be desirable to close down the few remaining industries in Bengal too so that the industrial land may be reclaimed for agriculture. Yes and all the educated youths, even those with PhD's should brace for a career in tilling the soil- there is no shame in 'dignity of labour'- it is a well accepted doctrine. And then have we realised how the name "Bongo" rhymes with "Congo"- may be soon there will be no difference between the two. And educated Bengali youth who are so "egoistic" as not to like cultivating the earth, may migrate to more salubrious climes to pursue there intellectual passions (I believe millions have already done so and those who still hold on to Bengal because of family reasons shall soon be forced to do so for reasons economic). Let this serve as a warning for other potential "miscreants" (aka investors) thinking of turning their capitalistic eyes on the red fortress of Bengal- do not try ever to break into this impregnable red fortress of medivialism and regression, or your doom is assured.

I really Pity those Farmers at Singur. mamta should be punished severelyfor her act in instigating the strike Ganesh

what do u know of Bengalis at large, my dear? Dont think u r too smart. read my earlier comments. Industry is good but it should not be built at the cost of social parameters. One simple example: Why did SC order removal of all chemical units from the outskirts of Delhi? Why did Govt relocate all tanneries from Tangra? In modern concept Industry must not damage ecology. Why does the USA want to go in for renewable energy and not nuclear energy? Get inputs before you revile a race. Dont be racist.
Most of the time the policy adopted by states is not justifiable whenever they acquire lands and public resources in the interest of public utility. The compensations are not in proportion of the loss to the property owner.

The property prices shoot up when projects are annponced and people demand astronomical sums. People who were living hand to mouth expect to become rich over bight s. Show me a single singur farmer who earns more than one lac a year ? With this mentality we could never have developed Railways and other infrastructure. Mamta is the enemy of W B.
I am sure these things wouldnt have happened if Mr Jyoti Basu was in governemnt. Well I wish West Bengal can prosper so does India and someday we can really compare West bengal with communist China
Re: Jyoti Basu

it is highly difficult to compare china & WB.Indain communist is useless compared to china communist. The real comuunist is china's communist. They do only develpments. indian communist are negetive minded. See the nuclear deal.. how the commies withdrawn support. India needs power very badly (Power generation, gas, coal,Hydel, nuclear, solar wind etc.).WB will never develop with these commies.

Actually, Tempo was a Bajaj brand making many types of vehicles. Their cheapest vehicle is the popular 3-seater auto-rickshaw, which sells for ~Rs. 1.5 lakhs.
Bajaj sold its Tempo Division to Force motors and the pricing there has not changed much. If given a choice, I would drive a Nano for an Auto-rickshaw.
I have no vote for anybody, the Bengal Government, Mamta Banerjee or TATA because we sitting far off do not know even 1% of the true story. We do not know why such a strong opposition is there for the TATA company. We do not know why Mamta is suddenly so dead against TATA rather than working out a solution if she is truly worried about farmers. We do not know why the Govt has not offered another site to TATA long back when it was seeing strong opposition. We do not know why TATA has in fact insisted on Singur only. Bengal is vast, they could have gone anywhere. So many questions unanswered. Anyway, whatever has happened is unfortunate and sad for Bengal who was just coming out for global development. Great loss for the people of Bengal. This should definitely discourage any company in opening shop in Bengal because this issue has been publicised worldwisde. Blot on Left Government also.
As a bengali its one of the most sad day for us. Not sure why still so many people is blind about Mamata. That lady never did anything well for the state apart from playing with the immotion of the poor villagers. Unfortunatly we never treat as India apart from our regional mentality. This kinds of regional dirty political issue might happen any other state. Anyway I think there should be string law to stop this kinds of vandalism in near future. I personally think we are abusing our democracy.
In fact any nice thing in Bengal or Cal is cos of British contribution. The only thing they have done is constructive destruction riding on dead ideologies.

He is right. And mind you Satyajit Ray has artistically sold India's poorties to west and earn his fame. If Satyajit Ray would have been in CHina, they would have executed him for portraying negativities of the country.

I believe she has donned the mantle of being the first in the country to force engineers and other professionals to the point of looking for jobs of farmhands in the near future in Bengal. And she shall then confer the honour to be farmhands on those professional who support her drive for agriculturalisation of the state.

Anyway, where is Bengal's economy? Why blame Bangldeshi intruders for bringing Bengal down when there own people and politicians are doing fine job destroying Bengal.
