by Arian on Sep 03, 2008 08:45 AM  Permalink

Tata's concerns I think must be more about remote prospects. The labour unions et al.They never know when the laboureres may clamp a hartal and get some political support as well.

I mean its foolish to invest in such a volatile state where no one knows the value of disciplined work.

TIME TO CHANGE MIND SET
by subhash bhatnagar on Sep 03, 2008 08:44 AM  Permalink

This is for the people of WB Are you still living in past . Yes WB people have shown the ways to other trade unions ,as how to have the benifits of collective bargaining in sixties and seventies then it was the need , but the time has passed all over the world , presently whether it is Govt or Private , no one can deny the due to working class any more.. Yes you have tought the private sectors management as how to deal with working class. but now the scene has changed and no need to live in the past. Rise above the politics and harted and show the agitators that what they are doing is not good for you. Thus Rise and Rise.

Mamata Banerjee does not represent West Bengal. In the state assembly her party got 26 seats, the LEFT got about 260 seats.

the leftists have only 10% of the total seats in Lok Sabha. Inspite of that how could they dare to break the central govt. by voting against the nuclear deal which is extremely good for the country?
do you think that giving electricity to the poors at a cheap price is wrong , while taking lands from farmers forcibly for offering cheap cars to the middle-class families is good. Will the Tatas give jobs to those farmers? Only the elite engineers will get jobs there, that also onle a few.
Try to think deeply.

Bengal's Contribution
by hari ray on Sep 03, 2008 08:41 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Those who have not read history well shud remember that Bengalis gave maximum blood in freedom struggle. In return, Britishers moved the capital from Calcutta to Delhi.

People who thinks Ray sold poverty have negative and imaginary IQ. Be content with Suraj Barjatiya et. all selling India's prosperity to west.

Bengali's are not over obsessive about their identities. That is why you won't find strong language based regionalism as in MH or TN. But Bengalis have deep rooted values. Remember it is the language that created Bangladesh (tussle between Urdu and Bangla) - have you ever seen a stronger force that broke the even the bond of Islam?

No sane person would argue about the greatness of Subash Bose or Satyajit Ray. However, they are all history (India was once the richest economy in the world) but once can not rest on past laurels.

In the past few decades, WB has gone from bad to worse. While Bengalis rest their lazy butts on their glorious past, most of remaining India went fast forward.

WB remains mired in decades of inefficient commie culture and crazy politicians like Mamatha (and atleast one foul mouthed, whining CA).

As for movies made in other states, I suggest you update your records. While Pather Panchali may have held its sway 40 years ago, other states too have made excellent movies which can hold their own weight.

I am a great admirer of Bollywood flicks and also seen great Marathi and Tamil movies. The movie comment was directed to someone who belittled Ray.

Yes, Bengal has only history to be proud of. That is why Sourav is so popular and adored (me included). Since we have nothing to feel happy about due to commi culture, we have elevated Dada to demi-god status

Another brilliant idea pack for Mamta & co!!!
by Bhagat Singh on Sep 03, 2008 08:41 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Mamta-ji,
1. Why don't you protest against airport land in Kolkata? Probably your grand father forget to protest...not too late madam!
2. Why don't you protest against railways for the land they use for transporting so many other people across your mother land?
3. Why don't you get back all the land used for National Highways and convert them to farm land?
4. To set an example, why don't you demolish your house and all your party men's house and give that plot to a farmer. May be you live in the caves or under Howrah bridge?
5. May be you should also try to initiate war against neighboring states and attach lands from them so that you can make Bengal the FARMER'S PARADISE!!!
