What has the politics in Singur achieved will be realised by the poor rural farmers after Mamtaji returns back to the cosy comforts of Calcutta. Time will tell what effect the whole drama will have on the industrialisation of West Bengal. No matter how hard commies try, they can not afford to sit quiet on this issue for long. They have to take a stand and the earlier they do, the better for them. Dr Vijay Thawani, Nagpur

Let us be fair. As far as Mamta is concerned, she, as a politician, paid back the Leftists in their same coin. Even among leftists, there are two sides - Bengal Leftists and Kerala Leftists. Mamata is not at all needed, the two Leftists will take care of themselves to ruin. Now, leave the politicians. Why even TATAs could have stepped back - just one step - and settled the matter by bringing down their demand from 1000 acre to 800 acre land, and got the project going, in case they were serious enough. May be that the TATAs had decided (much earlier) to quit West Bengal for some other reasons! It interesting to read press reports today that the TATAs are not happy with land acquisition in Tuticorin in Tamil Nadu for one of their projects(thus indirectly blackmailing the TN Governemnt to go ahead in acquiring land). I repeat had the TATAs were serious enough they would have pegged down their demand from 1000 acre to say 800 acre and get the project going. May be that, as other automobile manufacturers said, it is not economical to sell cars at 1 lac rupees OR that the TATAs are only interested in grabbing land (history shows how Maruti got prime agrl.land near Delhi border in Gurgaon for a song thanks to Sanjay Gandhi). In my view also, it is better for the nation as a whole if TATAs go in for some other project than manufacture of cars, given the increased crude oil prices world-wide, existing paucity of intrastructure like roads and the nighmarish experience one wo

I am very happy that TATA come out of Bengal. Otherwise in a year or two unionbazi make the plant garbage. then more loss to shift. All multinations shift from Bengal. Bengalies having technical qualification are out of state. Per capita income in USA US $30000 pa. India below $1500. Bengal less than India average. Because Bengal is out of new genration Industry. with increase population no. of farmers per acre increase, needs to shift otherwise stervation. If you are true friend of farmer tell the truth , give education and skill, so the dependen on land reduce.

Dear do not make it generalise and communal.being a Indian,it is everybody right to stay anywhere that does not mean we will forget our native place. Our brain, education and service help in Indians only.It is immaterials where are you staying.Try to make yourselves positive and refrain from these feelings.
My dear friends one thing please understand that Bengalies are not against the project. The whole thing is political.90% of the people in the state are pro-Industrialization.I am born and brought up in Kolkata and am not a Bengali.Everyone is in favour of the project.Mamata as the whole India knows how absurd the lady she is.Last elections her party won only one seat in the elections and that was hers. This time I feel she might even lose her seat.I am not a Pro-left but at the same time a supporter of our CM Buddhadev who geniuenly wants to Industrialize Bengal.Bengal was on the top of the Industrial map of India upto the 70s.Left front combined raped Bengal hands down. Now they have realised their folly. But Mamata knows that her dream of being the CM one day will remain a dream if Bengal developes Indusrially. For so many years she has fought on the unemployment,no-Industries card. If Industries start pouring in Bengal as it already has Mamata has not been left with any political card to fight the CPIM.And more- over for so many years of Industrial silence initial hiccups are bound to happen.Only wishing our CM the very best of luck.
With So Many Farmers commiting Suicide every day , And TATA is giving them an opportunity for stable work .. as we know TaTa are the Brands to be respected , their future is secured and not only that, Singur will be a rich industrial district with , so many other business sprawling to support the Industry . Those Farmers are Naive and a fool to let Politics into it. Mamta is going to have a sore victory if Tata exits , Coz her goal was never to throw Tata out but to have her way in to it. Just trying to get some lime lights as always..... and after this debacle , she will not even get the present number of seats in the next election as her strong hold has always been the city, and the intellectual Bengalis supporting her before will stop ... Sorry Mamata these time you pushed your luck way too far .

Yes I agree that thenaive have been taken for a ride. Later they will realise that this ride was too short sighted than the one they would have got through nano! Dr Vijay Thawani, Nagpur
Mamata Banerjee has been doing everything for the last few decades to topple the left govt. in Bengal. But she failed and even humiliated in the last elections. So she realized that her pro-urbane image won't do any magic other than sending her to Lok sabha from one of the Kolkata city seat. Then came the new terrific alliance of Trinamool-Maoist-SUCI, and for them two gifted issues Singur & Nandigram. Mamataji slowly started her showing her farmer love and strike-mania. The ultra leftists and Medha Patkar added spice to Mamata's new dish to capture some space in bengal politics. When singur is on, Nandigram is off, when Nadigram is on-Singur is off...Presently Nandigram is switched off by Mamta. Wow..Mamtaji..great game..but what do you think? your TMC will get all the rural support for this...Slowly and steadily your urban upport is eroding, thanks to your efforts for all the troulble to industialization. The Maoists and SUCI are certain to cash upon the rural anger against the WB govt. rather than TMC. Mamta Banerjee and people of Bengal would be the ultimate losers. So..the new leftist is on the rise. The anti-marxist people of Bengal considered Mamta as their icon to fight the Marxist..Now, Mamta has become an ultra-Marxist..Let GOD save this section of Bengal...So the new expansion of TMC will be "Totally Marxist Communist" party...Lal Salam...Comerade Mamata Didi

Mamta is doing what exactly Marxists do in Kerala. Let them learn and understand. No one has hopes that LEFT would change at least for another 15 years. 15 years is the minimum time that they need to understand something... Good decision by TATA. God bless WB and Kerala
