I saw the webcast of the launch today, i had a good look at the car too.. looks fairly decent.. should try a test drive, before deciding..
With an empty boot it may seem that the performance of the vehicle is similar to that os Swift but once you fill it up with a few suitcases and the torque per kg will definately fall drastically. Also the front and back looks are okay but the side looks of the vehicle is horrible
I feel maruti should overhaul its lder zen and esteem instead of phasing them out. They phased out the zen and brought in a stupid variant. The classy esteem seems to be going that way as well given that it is based on the ugly swift. Why can't they change the look a little bit and bring in more features in the same car?
i guess the result is pretty unanimous on this forum - the vehicle is not so dzirable after all. to throw chivalry to the winds, the vehicle sucks big time. the reviewer or rediff shud hv been smart enough to insert a photograph.
I saw this thing on NDTV Profit on Sunday, and quite frankly, it is the ugliest thing ever to hit Indian roads.
Thanks to the so called 'designers' at Maruti, the Swift's backside has been extended so that it looks like a tank from 2 metres away. The rear curves hardly blend into the boot, and I really puked when the anchor called it a great 'value for money'. Interiors remain exactly the same: pathetic. If this is all Maruti can come up with 'in response to the Logan', heaven help us!

Agreed Shekar. All vehicles from the Maruti Stable are ugly(except SX4) and performance sucks. It is only in a country like India that these cars get made and sold.

The new vehicle may be bad but your comment is not entirely true. Suzuki cars - same as ours - do well all over the world. Yes, there are better cars but the same cars as here are also running well all over.
The older Zen and the Esteem are great cars for the Indian roads - much better than about any other cars available - for both driving and passenger comfort. The rest is upto personal liking. I personally hate the Swift and the new Zen Estilo. I also don't like the Wagonr. However, better cars from other stables like Honda are also more expensive - so suzuki cars may indeed be value for money.
Hey guys, dont forget that maruti's cars have carried us for so long. I have used my esteem for a long time and it has not given me any trouble. Maruti cars may lack the build quality of the others but they are worth every buck one spends on them

very true. I own a 800 and santro xing and still love it. Cheers!
If you ask a school going kid to draw a car he will come up with the better design and good looking car than Swift Sedan. Just adding the boot space does not make a it a sedan. Also Maruti engineers must have lot of Feviquick to paste the boot, otherwise how can they justify such a high price compared to Swift hatch.
