6th Pay commission
by girish tambolkar on Mar 24, 2008 03:19 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Why government is so concerned about under performing peoples, instead they should think for poor and below poverty line peoples.

In india about 75 crores peoples are hardly earning Rs. 20 a day.
sHAME OF SO CALLED gOVT. FOR POORS IS THIS GOVERNMENT GENERATING MORE POORS.

Why are they poor? because they were born to poor parents!and why did the poor parents give birth to more, knowing well they can't even afford? because they are hoping the GOVT will help them! Why is the Govt not "educating" them and Governing better? Because they are the Vote bank for the parties and there is NO SUCH thing called Govt! Its x/y/z party in power, who can have access to the tax money collected from the public to do whatever they want to do for a possible tenure of 5 years (including paving way for another term by annoucing freebies to the votebank to extend the tenure again). Its the bane of human civilisation that most dont want to think of the BIG picture and expect everything to be "taken care of" by somebody somehow! Those who can manage, survive. Those who can't, struggle and suffer. Is this what is called fate?

Actually no one is bothered abt BPL people.

Till last year people were saying why do you want a govt job when thers a private IT job paying 5 -6 times higher with oppurtunity to go to foreign countries.

This year when the poor officer in govt who after 12yrs gets a 10k basic has a reason to be happy with the pay commission, people in private are feeling the itch for a 40% increase which people in private get it in 2 yrs.

Do you realize that lower salary combined with increasing cost of living can actually be the reason for all the wrong doings by the govt employees.

40% increase is micro peanuts compared to the huge fat salaries corporates negotiate on every jump.

When most of the nation is benefitted ? lets feel happier and demand our Govt office colleagues to work more happily and responsibily

Okay but not convincing enough
by Agastya Viswambhara on Mar 24, 2008 03:18 PM  Permalink

It's just okay if there's a hike on the basic. A percentage will come back via tax OR the economy will grow via spendings. However, there's got to be a huge revamp in governmental operations- right from Union to State.
Most importantly, THERE HAS TO BE A HIKE IN PENSION - after all govt has to also think of its senior citizens who find it difficult top cope with rising inflation...

No accountability for government sector
by Deshbhakta Hindustan on Mar 24, 2008 03:17 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Only some people in governement employment (Central/state ) have accountability and rest ( most of them ) enjoy holidays at workplace.

There is no target,no pressure,no accoutability,no threat to job, ample holidays.

Central government employees work only for half year ( 6 months ) vis a vis their pvt sector counterparts who can not enjoy these many holidays.More importantly ,they get paid for entire year. This is siffoning off tax payers money.Let the government bring peroformance based system and accountability for indivisual and they pay should increase.

Shame Shame Shame

There is nothing wrong in giving govt employees 40% hike. The price rise does affect them as well. May be other benefits like LTA, Festival Bonus, free railway pass for family of railway employees, free phones for BSNL employess(I am not sure if families of Income tax pay taxes or is that free for them), etc need to be revoked.

10 YEARS
by renish garmora on Mar 24, 2008 03:17 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

5th pay comission was on jan 1996.

pay comission give rise every ten(10) years.

in every years govt. employs get 5-7% rise which is nothing compare to pvt sector.

pvt company gives 15-25% or more than that rise every year, if they are not giving this much rise, you definately change the company for batter rise.

M I RIGHT?

We are totally shocked, we are expecting 400% jump, mere 40% hike is cheating, you see five days a week we are trying to come to office all the way from our home and sitting in office and going back all the way back to home. This is not a fun. The Govt. has to pay arrears from our date of birth not from Jan'06, otherwise we will go on nation wide strike.

Good Reward
by Raju Banarasi on Mar 24, 2008 03:14 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

This is very good reward for hardworking and honest govt. employees... whom you can find present at t-stalls or PAN shop bargaining their clients whether its winter, rain or summer...

Now at least they can buy a Tata nano and sit under it to bargain peacefully...
Pay commission should think allocating a separate budget for t-stalls and pan shops or some kind of undertaking, as they help our hardworking employees to fetch as much as possible for bureaucrats and politicians.

This 40% pay hike will definitely going to enhance their confidence level and they can ask for more bribe easily as it was bit difficult to get more bride in Pant-Shirt. Now they can afford suite.

Decrease the salary
by raghavendra k on Mar 24, 2008 03:14 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Instead of reccommending 40% average hike , it would have prudent to reccommend 40% decrease in salary ( Except for Defence , Reasearch and teaching professin) as these babus get additional Makkan from their Job. Also we all know how these shameless creatures are parasites to common indian? I hate these parasites
