Dear SIr, You wrote such a article, seems u r full support to the planner of airport. 1.Distance is immaterial to you 2.UDF is also doesnt bother you 3.Travelling time doesnt affect you 4.Passengers any other problem you are not bothered.
By the way can you please let me know why these airports built ?? if passengers face problem ?? is it for show or just to pat ourselves ???
I could not understand your article bottom line at all
The real problem is the distance and higher cost of UDF (User Development Fees). How can you justify that a flight to Chennai from Bangalore which takes 35 mins and you end up paying almost Rs 1000 as UDF (which was the suggested price, not mentioning the fuel surcharges taxes) plus the travel time to A/P say, from JP Nagar which will take anywhere between 2-3 hours or maybe 4 depending on the time of travel. This is poor planning. Blame the consortium/state gov/central gov., the people are the real sufferers

The taxi fare from the heart of Hyderabad to the new airport, according to today's issue of the Hindu is Rs.1000. Can you beat that ?
Like the bank staff, the aviation staff has the attitude of ownership as if they have inherited the aviation facilities whether ground or airborne from their great great grandfathers.
Politeness is nowhere in their dictionary.
They are all first class idiots right from the MD to the zaadoowaali at ground level.
This is very curious and needs to be investigated as to why they lack the attitude of servitude.

I totally agree with you !
The new airport developers seem to be scared of competition. If their swank new airports are the best, then let them make it attractive for people to use it. Charging a high user fee from passengers, an expensive taxi ride (as much as the airticket in many cases), throughput fuel charges and high ground handling charges are queering the pitch. We need an airport which is clean, neat and easy to reach. And the Shamshabad airport does not fulfill that. Let both Begumpet and Shamshabad remain open and let people decide which one to use.
Real problem is not even with the traffic chaos and road conditions. It is the problem with the airport staff who have bought land and dwelling with their families at a very nearby areas of airports. And they have become so lethargic with their bloated bellies that they don't want to travel this long distance daily. This is clear from the fact that the protests have been organised by airport staff and not general public.
Looking at the article title ,I expected something NEW. But the issue of lack of access roads to the new airports is a well known fact at least in Bangalore and Hyderabad. Everyone knew that it will be the REAL problem. Buy like any other Govt. project it took some time for the amount of attntion it needed. By the time people started taking it seriously, the airport is ready and the connecting roads are still at aproval level.
India has seen only the tip of the Aviation tavel boom, Cities like Bangalore which have more than 10 Million population require 2 airports in any international standards.
As usual the writer is lobbying for the interests of the new airport management, his crocodile tears for the passengers is juts an eye wash.
