Not worth...
by Arya on Mar 21, 2008 09:50 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I dont see any advantage other than just labeling it as world cheapest car.. If u really see the specification, its max speed is 50 KMPH which is not acceptable in todays condition and going forward, traffic scenarios will be worst and we have to keep speed limits on our freeways and city roads to keep the traffic moving, in that scenario this car will be a waste...Apart from that the overall design is worst compared to Tata Nano (Agreed the fact that TATA has capital in hand with already built in infrastructure whicch give them chance to build the component cheaper compared to TARA), bu the from customer point of view why i should buy a car which is bad in performance and also looks just coz i get lil money advatage (The money advantage coz the per KM cost for this is 40 paisa compared to 2.5 Rs in case of Tata Nano). So the only advabtage with this car is cost per KM which is not sufficient to compete with TATA Nano...

Well. Someone ventured to make it. Thats what we need to appreciate. May be they will improve the performnace once the market picks up. If the Govt withdraws subsidy on petrol & Diesel, they will be too expensive and then people will have no option but to look at vehicls which do not run on fossil fuels.

Fine, who asked you to buy this car? People who are not able to look beyond themselves think only about their comforts. They turn a blind eye about the environment they are polluting and living. Agreed that this car has limitations but then, the manufacturer never claims otherwise! He has specific cross section of interested buyers. Certainly you do not fit into this catefgory. You have never considered the advantages which overweigh the short comings of those city dwellers, who would love to drive small distances within the city boundaries, in a car which is noiseless (relatively), does not pollute, has least day-to-day problems.

Presentation
by Mayala Fakir on Mar 21, 2008 08:31 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

You've got a good car out there. An excellent example of good automobile engineering.

But look at the surroundings ? Make it look like piece of trash.

When do we guys understand that presentation is as important as the product itself.

And you have the photo published ? What kind of marketing morons do they employ?

Looks like you are truly live upto your name

:)

As usual, you miss the point and resort to personal attack. I only commented on the marketing wing, if at all it exists, of the "outfit" that's producing and attempting to market the cars in future.

The appreciation for their effort is right at the beginning, which you missed, in your effort to defend them.

When the company has a car outside for 'anyone' to come and take a look at it, it should put some 2 minute worth of thinking in it. The kind of impression they want people to leave with after they "saw" their car.

a) They could have had two sweepers clean up the place for 200 rupees each. I can do it if they pay me.

b) Go to the nearest tent-house, put up a shamiana and have a chaddar-quilted-tent pitched up and park the car in it. It takes about 1000 rupees a day. Not a big deal. People are spending that kind of money on dinners these days. Is it too much?

Do a) and b) and see the difference.

They don't have to have a swanky showroom - but a little bit of thinking saves embarassing moments, which obviously escapes you.

I'm glad you don't find cows and pigs roaming and little children defecating near the car at the place captured in the photo.

If they are not a Car Company, what are they aspiring to. Producing cars out of kitchen oven and garage lathe machines?

Anyone who is an entrepreneur would know these basics, atleast.

Atleast get rid of the free floating pieces of trash, for crying out loud.

Are you on th

Never Buy TATA Motor vehicles
by m naveen m on Mar 20, 2008 10:31 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Guys,we own a tata indica turbo bought about 1yr 7months back ,I was proud that bought truly Indian car.but car gives so much trouble, stops suddenly even after regular services & finally now engine seized after driving around 600kms of service from authorized dealer , we had several narrow escapes of major accidents beacuse ofudden failures. Now no one in tata motors is taking responsibility, they speak like they are doing a favour .Now I'm scared to touch that vehicle because u never now when it stops or casualties ,now I want new car or cash back so that i can buy some other reliable car & they don't accept the same or they don't provide any written assurance of so many KMS it can run after the service. They are fooling people,so Just don't go by cost& advertising look for quality otherwise you may end up paying double the cost of car.

sorry to hear about your experience. Please write to publications such as Autocar, they regularly take up such cases with manufacturers. And threaten to take them to consumer's forum.

Tara may reduce pollution
by Mikel on Mar 20, 2008 02:29 PM  Permalink

The bigger the car the more it farts. an average 2- 3 hours of drive (to and fro, Andheri to churchgate) emits tonnes of poisonous gas. The Tara and the Revas should be looked at as the next gen cars !! Friends dont allow your cars to fart to kill others.
