India set to be No.1 in manufacturing investment?
by XianYe on Jun 24, 2008 07:00 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

set to be? is forecast to be? is predicted to be? ...

China is shedding off certain manufacturings that contain very little technology. I suppose India can pick up where China left off. China is going up the value chain and making overseas ionvestments in textitles, basic electric and electronic machinery, home appliances etc. Hope India can attract some of these unwanted baggage. Good luck.

Waste Management

It is too dangerous for India if it becomes No.1 in manufacturing. Everyone is looking at just one side about employment and FDI in our country. How we are going to handle the e-waste and machine waste. Even countries like US,Canada, Germany are struggling with their industrial production wastes and its is piling up. Just think about the following:
1) all old automobiles (cars/bikes/vans) which has gone absolete.
2) all e-waste like computers, keyboards, mouse, chips, mobile phones, accessories that has gone obsolete
3) plastics such as switches, boxes, ECBs, etc, that cannot be recycled
4)various other plastics that has been used in many many industries on a daily basis and the garbage is lying on the outskirt of every city in heaps and bounds.
There are so many that I can list that India have not created any regulation about how to dispose/manage/recycle this waste. No "Scientist" has ever got an idea.
INDIA HAS BECOME A DUMPING GROUND and with our terrible people who does not have even 1% of civic sense throwing everything everywhere. INDIA IS ON THE PATH BECOMING A MESS. Nobody is realizing this truth. Look at both sides of a coin. Thanks.

Good point, Srini. India has already become a garbage dump. You see filth wherever our great populace has even 0.1% presence. With slack, or non-existant regulations, its only going to become worse. In the last 30 years I have seen beautiful places in India absolutely destroyed by junk, filth and garbage. People have zero civic sense, whether they are illiterate or Ph.Ds. Peeing, shitting, spitting, throwing all kinds of things everywhere. We are a nation of filthiest people on earth. I have been to even African countries struggling with poverty, but nowhere have I seen filth to this extent...

Very well said Madhusudhan. I've been to Egypt it was 1000 times better in infrastructure and civic beauty as compared to India. I hope your healthy criticism opens the eyes of our politicans. I have seen slogans like Amchi Mumbai, Swach Mumbai but I can see only shit everywhere.

This all shining dreams could be true. India has potential too become a super power. All it needs favorable economic/Industrial policies. It needs gr8 will from govt. Investors are already willing.
As individuals, we Indians are a very different creed. With our hard work we can achieve anything...mean it..ANY THING.

Lets hope for the best (govt. to show its good will)

Yes.....we Indians are a different breed. Where else will you come across in public behaviour, such indiscipline, filth, intolerence of other human being, corruption.......

We may be individually intelligent but we are publicly amongst the bumbest. Nation can progress only and only if the population shows public intlligence.

Do we, then, stand any chance?

COPY & PASTE NEWS MADE BY REDIFF TEAM
by Arijit on Jun 24, 2008 01:06 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The same news entitled "India to be largest recipient of investments in manufacturing" was published on Friday, June 20, 2008 in SiliconIndia News. Please refer to the following: (siliconindia.com/shownews/42944)!

Has Rediff Team copied the old contents and published in their name?

Apparently Rediff acts like a back bencher, and always copy from others (media) with some distortion (modification) so that the class teacher (readers) cannot understand from where the material has been copied! This is called a cheating game which is played by kids in the classroom during exams! Rediff is doing the same stuffs! How can one rely upon Rediff Team? On one hand they are being paid by Karat Inc., on the other hand they copy & paste the news!

Please STOP PLAGIARISM Rediff Team.

Manufacturing investment? India set to be No. 1!
by Vijay Taleppadi on Jun 24, 2008 12:37 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Thousands of unemployed youth are looking for a job in India. Employment can be generated only if Manufacturing side of economy gets huge investment (domestic and international) provided we have enough power to run the machines. Commies know well that India can compete with china with substantial generation power in the Manufacturing field. Only 123 agreement can help us in this area. That is why commies are blocking the agreement to serve/please their Chinese masters.

Well...they have to bow to the aishes of their masters....how else can they justify their faith...that the Red Flag will fly over India one day. This can happen only if India is kept backward and all Indians are in abject poverty. For only in such conditions will communism have any chance. But the people of India have seen through their game. After the next elections, they will throw out these fake socialists.

Manufacturing investment? India set to be No. 1!
by Vijay Taleppadi on Jun 24, 2008 12:06 AM  Permalink

Will it ever happen in India. Chinese agents in India (Carrot and company) are holding the country to ransom. They look at chinese (their MASTERS)interest and try to hold back India where ever possible. Will our people see through their game and reject these traitors in the next election. Only time can tell.... PM is doing his best to go ahead with the Nuclear agreement.

Manufacturing investment-India set to be No.1
by RK Express on Jun 23, 2008 11:10 PM  Permalink

Good to hear this again, we have been hearing this for long.... The govts, in both the centre & states, should create the right environment, infrastructure, etc...the lack of which is certainly a hurdle to attract high foreign investmenets in this sector. For example : There is no electricity board in India who could provide a clean, uninterrupted power in the required volumes at affordable price, for 365 days (or even 300 days)of the year. There is always shortage, load shredding, low voltage etc...It is common in almost all states. Whereas in many countries this situation very rare. This just one example. We have to concentrate on building the right infrastructure in india to become No.1.
