Correct in a sense, but even the new employer could do the same thing. So shud ppl keep on changing jobs till they find the right one? I wud say that no job will be 100 % right for any employee..

See! Ask them How much Take Home salary you want (Net Salary) on that they will calculate their CTC.... which is more better than asking for Gross annual salary

Lets understand that in India there is still a lot of unemployment. Too many persons are chasing too few jobs. Therefore, if you think that you can negotiate pay it is a pipe dream. Especiallay since you are gonna be another mediocre employee. Keep your mouth shut and accept whtever they offer. All companies have a process and systems in place and it works that way only.

Atlast!!! someone with sense.
I was interviewing a Fresh MBA candidate for sales position. He indicated me that he has some physical disability that prevents him from driving a two wheeler. I told him that I cannot consider him for a sales job, I have vacancies in HR but his training is in marketing. He immediately pulled out a new resume and shows me that it is his HR resume. Now tell me is it the birth prerogative of employees to cheat employers.

Mr surya prakash, I do not see anything wong in what your prospective employee has done. If I am applying for a HR position I would obviously highlight the projects/works that I have done in that area. That is a normal practice in B-schools. Obviously nobody is going to give you a 10 page cv highlighting weverything they have done. Only the experience relevant to the job makes sense on the cv.
