people are getting nostalgic here...remembering the good old days..no wonder petrol will not be a commodity and would be kept in museums or antiquity collection center...:-)
As far as I remember, in 1986 when I first purchased my motorcycle the price of Petrol was around Rs. 7/- per Litre. In 22 years the price enhanced almost 800%. May god help us.
i was in std 10th when we shifted to pune from amritsar, and dad gave me our bajaj scooter for a refill, and i remember, it was 18 bucks, then very soon it became 22, and then ... kee phark painda hai, 100 bhi ho jaaye, bharaayenge hee. after a little bit of crying and cribbing, life comes back to normal.
I remember a Hero Puch Moped of 1991 model gave mileage of 90 km /litre. In 1998 petrol was Rs 22 per litre.
I used to fill up petrol of Rs 100 for the complete month. Daily usage was hardly 10 km. That meant monthly usage was 300 km only. Enough petrol left to travel another 100 km.

I think I have also filled at the same cost..around 8.75 Rs/ltr inclusding 2T oil.....
But in one case its fine that prices are increasing.... till we don't get a good hit we never learnt any out of that.... now people and government and everyone will think about it... they all will look for alternatives.... for exmple Oil extracted from Coal which will cost Indians around 23 to 25 Rs/Ltr.... and we have coal too much that will last for almost 400 years.... so lets make HO-HALLA so that government should start taking action towards it...
