US had the cheapest of Gas way back when... it's almost 10 yrs now. it costs ~$4 now... so we have come to a point of no return that these prices are EVER going to go to those levels AT ALL
Does it make any sense Rediff is asking the lowest petrol price??????? which item can be avoided from this question??
Instead asking nonsense question to the people, it is the time to ask the answer to the Govt., being a responsible media as this world is ruled by the media, now a days......

A similar observation for me, I am 27 years and I remember we were paying Rs 15.50 (aprrox.)per liter at the begining of nineties. Anyway as we know the resources are limited so the prices will continue to increase but the govt. can have some control by adjusting the taxation policies. But we are likely to switch over to other sourses of energy very soon like electri bikes or hydrogen fuel which is the demand of time.
I remember i paid rs.40 per litre when i use to goto college in 1998.But,now i wonder how much would the petrol become costlier till my children start going to their colleges!

In my previous birth i paid around 0.25p / ltr. it was around 1925. After reading this article i recollected each and every incident of my previous birth... thanks to rediff.
Yes... those golden days... Dad used to give me Rs.50 and in those 50 rupees I used to fill up Kinetic Luna's petrol tank. And still 6 Ruppes in my hand. So then i used to have GRAND PARTY in those days in 6 Rupees. But now no one will belive this, and consider this as a story. This was long back to 1995-96.
