i remember before 10years petrol price was Rs.20pltr..But now its going High to Double. well still we wait and watch the petrol price will be Rs.100/- per litre..
The cheapest price which i remember is Rs. 16.75/litre... back then fuels were not taxed much... but now.. more than half of the price is bloody taxes!
I fail to understand, that on one hand, the Oil companies say that they are going bust, on the other hand, there share price is doing well on the stock exchange, & they move up every year in the Fortune-500 companies.

Correction Sir, I purchased my Motorcycle during 1968.So i am sure the price was 61 paise per liter. then it raised to 63 Paise and then 68 paise!so it would have been less in 1967.regards
It is not important what is the absolute value of fuel then and now.. What is more important to see is what part of our income do we spend on fuel.. I guess it has more or less stayed constant per kilometer.
I remember that when I paid Rs.8 for petrol, I was earning Rs. 1500 a month. Today petrol has risen by 7 times and I my earnings are Rs.60,000. My earnings has risen by 40 times, I think that we have to contribute more for for our country. Every is speaking about Rs.5 petrol rise, just think you might spend even more for an unwanted thing. Try to avoid and let us all find a way to help the nation.
I heard that in the years1980s at Srilanka the Petrol Price was Rs.56/- Per Ltr. and I think in India that time between Rs.14 to Rs.15/- and I compared that time with India how the srilankan will mannage with this much rate.
