They shld remove the Taxes on petrol...if want double the taxes in liquor/tobacco....put huge taxes on cinnemas...all those in which puplic will pay no matter howmuch it increases...and will not effect so much to an the inflation also
1988 - Rs.10/- Used to go to school - less than 2kms away - in an autorickshaw which charged me Rs.40/- per month. We were around a bunch of 10/12 kids who used to travel by this auto.
Try asking the kids in your neighbourhood how much they pay these days for their School bus / Van.
In 1987 I used to pay Rs. 20 to put about 2 ltr in my LML scooter. It would last a week for my office to home 7 Km. Scooter average of about 45 Km per Ltr. those were penny days. RIP.
I pay nothing when ever i fill 40 ltr petrol to my car since i am goverment officer entitled for free petrol. so I dont remember of paid for petrol since my dad and gradappa all oare govt. officer , even we use petrol to clean our bathroom sometimes. we have strong community of more than 2 crores goverment servents...! dont waste our time asking price of petrol....damn it!!!

You are right , more than 90% of the fuel consumed by Goverment for Defence , ministors, officers.....etc... what the hell it is asking price of petrol....

I know during my college in 1993 I use to go to the petrol pump and fill half litre in my scooter for 9 rs 1 rs for oil. do for 10 rs I use to drive 20 kms.
