I am fortunate enough to pay only Rs 7 per litre till today,no subsidy here ofcourse,i live in qatar.
My Dad paid Rs 1 in early 1980's ...when i was just ababy... when I bought my first Scooter... i paid about Rs 30... Centarl Govt should Reduce Taxs and Duties etc levid on fuel charges... state Govts should also help reduce the sales tax on them!! Rather put this charges on Alcohol and Cigars etc!!! I'm sure Gotvs will earn more!!!
Lowest I remember was Rs.1.51 per litre of petrol, in fact when prices started going up those days they didn't gas stations where rate on the machine could be changed so for many days machines continued to show Rs.1.51 when it had gone up actually then they used to stick a piece of paper with new price written on it. Mangoes were Rs.12 a dozen. Of course starting salary for a fresh MBA was Rs.700 pm
My dad used to pay Rs 12 per liter while dropping me to my school...Now its Rs 50 cause of global hike,,,, would the petrol price b reduced when the global recovery happens???
