Indian Hype
by Manu on Aug 01, 2008 07:15 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

That shows where all the hype for India economic conditions stands at... a poor shot at crying for attention. Per capita at $950, its quite clear, that we have more work on our hands for another few decades and "stop all that hype talk now".

By the way, who stands first in terms of per capita income?

Indians are so xenophobic and like the frogs in a well, who think India is a powerful and influential country and Amithab,SRK, Sachin are most famous people in the world. But the reality is what ever little recognition india got just from 7 to 8 years. before that india was famous for half naked poor and snake charming people like shown in the james bond and idian jones movie. The best example is the email chains about the Katrina and the mumbai floods. The fact is more than 90% indians are poor and even our neighbors like Nepal, Bangladesh, Srilanka dont care us.We cont even win a single medal in olympics. So instead of dreaming we should first improve our infrastructure and remove the poverty. we have a long way to go to become a influential force in the world.

Dirty and blood sucking Politics plays the major role in corruption in India , leading to wide gap in the earnings of Ambanis, and middle class. I agree to this views. Training8m, Queensland, Australia

by basant on Jul 31, 2008 01:01 PM  Permalink

interest rate hike will affect share market and GDP in negative way. National production will reduce as a result this miss match of production and supply will increase. Ultimately export will be adversly affected and Rupee becomes more and more weaker.

We are on the top.........................
by JayaKumar Patchala on Jul 30, 2008 09:17 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

All the top economies listed considered their entire population. But in India, only 25% people are considered to be economically active. If you consider our tota population and their contribution ( not just companies and stock markets ). India is on the top of world economy.

Shame
by Praveen Kumar on Jul 29, 2008 10:38 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Its quite a shame because India was ranked 10th largest economy in terms of GDP in 2004 and China was 6th largest. Now India is pushed down to 11th thanks to growing economies of Russia & Brazil. Not surprisingly China is marching ahead strongly and its an extreme pride for them to overtake countries like Britian, France & Italy.

India should pull out from WTO! It had much harm to Indian all class of people farmars, workers, businessman, industrailist. There policies have killed many people and put in starvation.
Indian media should all the time compare with China and not with Pak! Our politacians, newspapers,TVs are all the time comparing the things with Pakistan and patting our shoulders for achivements! In NZ even a chinese with no English or little English and even price showing in the calculators are doing much bigger business than we from India!
Indian child now from birth we are mad of teaching in English language! We all people from begaing sacrifices the mothertoung languages. And run for giving KG,SKG,Primary,High School and college in English. Here students put in double burden. When teachers away they among class talk in Hindi and when teacher comes English or some even ask teacher in English. After graduating this English are not acceptable to any ENGLISH SPEAKING COUNTRIES! They will demand TOFEL,or IELTS test passing! Fine if you passed this test after also your Indian English is acceptable in there society. In US whatever wrong English they speak that you have to accept and speak according wrong one and forget your correct English! Chinese counterpart are doing all tremedous progress without sacrificing.

Dude, Indians always live in the dillusional world and 90% of our population are short sighted about themselves and country, which makes them easily exploitable. As long as masses live in insecurity, there is no hope for India to get into the leauge of developed countries. This is the probable reason why people want to go out of India looking for greener pastures.

our per capita income is more than 1000$ ..its 1030$ and as PPP parameter it is 2800$. In 2003 our GDP was 460$...imagine if we continue to grow at 9% in next 5 years it will be doubled.
But the problem is that rich become richer and poor become poorer. Urban and rural divide...we need to bridge the gap between these two.

Hi
Whoever made this comment represents the true typical Indian. Shame on them. We cannot distinguish the grain from the chaff. We cannot make out what is right and wrong ourselves. Our ethos are built on our forefathers. Time have changed but we cannot apply ourselves in the modern times.

We have a leader here in Manmohan Singh, but we do not give him credit. When we say that the current bunch is not capable, in a way we are responsible. I say first you a grow as a person, I know u r not. First make u right then others. No leader will come from the heavens and save you.You do something and the leader will come from amongst us.
The problem with every Indian, you me and everybody is we are fatalistic, egoistic, stubborn etc. We cannot change Man.

NS,

What you said here makes a reality check. But again, stating is easy, its the actioning that fails. And we definitely cannot expect that from our people in decades to come and this fact or forecast is unquestionable. Nature has built the world like that, Indians are expected to be at a particular mark and is destined to be there.
