every media now wants money by any means, how will they get wihtout publicity, think its one prank rediff has done to get publicity which has resulted in the bad name for rediff itself
Why is that rediff publishes a traffic jam in India...... and nice pics of other countries ? Guranteed no one in rediff will have any answers.... shame on u rediff

Beacause we burn more of it for traffic jams both on ground and in Air; where as countries having lower density of population spend to feed fuel inefficient cars. Rediff is right!

Because we dont respect our own country.We find a foreign country to be much more superior to our own country..! Indian mentality at the forefornt here nothing else.
This is really a bad precedent followed by rediff. The image accompanying all the other countries have some good photos. But only for India they have shown the photo of a traffic jam . Is traffic jam not there in other countries. Please dont show your intellignce by putting this type of image.
It is shame on part of REDIFF to insult a country like India. They are also a part of propaganda to defame India. Any country would have objected to thsi kind of treatment. Most of the countries are very conscious about their image outside hence apply news censorship if it harms their image. Even USA and Pakistan are following this. But our govt is shameless like its politicians.
Rediff seems to be hiding behind facts here while presenting the same. They could have presented the same figures in a table making it easier for people to compare exactly how much US of A is consuming compared to the other nations. In fact US of A consumes more than the combined figure of nations from 4-10 in the top 10 list! Hmm indeed an achivement of a nation that asks India and China to reduce consumption to reduce world prices!

he is just putting in front a valid point... its appropriate to provide per capita consumption along with the total consumption. This is an imp factor, India consumes ~ 2.5m barrels of oil per day, that is 3% of total consumption in world even though India has 26% of the world population, on the other hand US consumes 20m barrels per day, which amounts to 25% of total world consumption but their population is just 5% of the world. YOu can see he contrast!

A million people from across the world go through these statistics. Its easier for rediff to have done the table than a million people individually doing it......
