Nuke Deal_Great Dr.Manmohan Singh_Singh is King
by Anthony C on Jul 24, 2008 12:31 PM  Permalink

Thanks to diplomatic and political skills of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, we have a deal which could lift India into the Trillion-dollar club, faster. Ten years from now when electricity supply situation in India’s households, industry and farms is significantly better, we have to thank him. Thank God, we are not struck with in one sided, Iran - Pakistan – India pipeline deal. This would have held India permanently hostage to Pakistan.

NAV of MFs
by R Bose on Jul 24, 2008 10:18 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

You said,"The NAV of a mutual fund corresponds to the book value of a stock. The NAV is arrived at by calculating the market value of the investments net of expenses" If that be so, where is the profit parked? How is it accounted for?

simple, in the market value of the portfolio. if portfolio is in profit, it will be higher and in loss then lower. if fund manager is holding cash, then that will also reflect in market value.
