I am surprised...very surprised. Even after facing so much flak and flames from the readers for the same article couple of weeks back, rediff has courage and guts to put it back on their website.
Hello!! If i, Mr zerotaxwala gift money to someone in my family, How is it an exemption to me!?!?! Mujhe kaise tax relief milega. I think this is a shitty article made under the assumption that indian tax laws are made by some amateurs. Boss it is made by educated ppl who understand money/tax. Looks like the author does not understand any of these concepts!!
before reading I thougt is it really possible... but I conclude It was just a waste of Time and rediff shud first read and verify all this kind of Important stuff before publishing. This is really a bogus article without any logic. hemant
I think Mr. Lakhotia should be mad and claim exemption U/S 80 U and INCOME TAX dept should file case case against this mad fellow.
How can gift to other family members can be granted as exemption to Mr. Zerotaxwala, has Mr. Lakhotia read and /or misread or misinterprited Section of gift tax.
Is our FM so fool to leave such a big LOOP HOLE is the ACT.
I think Mr. Lakotia should be banned and rediff should APOLAGISE FOR THIS GROSS NEGLIGENCE OF PUBLISHING SUCH STUPID AND MIS LEADING ARTICLE ON THE NET.
Otherwise the readers will loose trust in such highly reputed website which is PRIDE OF INDIA.
Please consult a CA... or a CA student like me... before publishing such articles.. A person has to pay tax before gifting it to relatives.. Than the gift is exempt in the hands of receiver.. So please come out of the myth that it is a zero tax..
And if next I find such a article.. I will sue u..

Also, incomes of these individuals would be as follows .. Wife = 0 (homemaker) Son = 0 (studying in college) Daughter = 0 (studying in school)

Suno Suno Zro Tax Wala Nahin Rediffwalal Pagal Ho Gaya Hai Koi ise thik karao. Utter rubbish article. Tankgod he thought of 13.10 Lakh and 5 persons family and not 1 crore and 50 person faimily
