A show very well put up! There are thousands of people who do these things and one like you would have the courage to put those in writing. Its a reinforcement of facts for those who're already aware of things and an eye-opener for the less-informed!
Whatever said & done, the world doesnt stop for anyone... everyones in the rat race, with dreams of making it big. An article or two like these would come & go... but people are so foolish that they forget it minutes later and are back to normal the moment they see a green arrow pointing upwards... hehe!
nothing can change nobody... all in the run for their bread & butter!
but mr. venkatesh... you're style of writing, criticism, humour, language... its arresting!
and not to forget the amount of experience that echoes behind your confidence exhibited crystal clearly in the entire article... woah! im in awe of you!!

great insight and claculations ..whetted ?
Even after having finished reading the article I am ecstatic, wallowing in its truth, strength and humour. I don't find words to express my appreciation to the writer's ability to express 'Financial Realities', in such a profound and humourous manner. I look forward to read more of your such articles 'Venkatesh'. Your modus of presentation reminds me of the late Tamil writer 'Sujatha' alias 'Rengarajan', whose writing I have always enjoyed and grew with. All the best wishes 'Venkatesh', for a bright career of such articles seeking 'Truth', which is pretty hard usually.
the basis of stock market is simple-invest in a good company and wait for sometime-a few years. that is buy and sell. but most transactions in the market are not of this type. people trade on daily basis ,short or long ,derivatives etc etc. as things get complicated(unnecessarily) " experts" move in and common sense goes out of the window. that's what happened in america.stick to good old rule and everybody will benefit. the fact is that a little bit of speculation(or risk taking or whatever you call it) is a part of economic development.
WHY NOT? All these so called financial analysts are not better than a very wise businessman. They are good at wearing a tie and an air of a professional and only good at being clerks.
They themselves did not get rich by investing in stocks but they advise day in day and out as to how to invest and make money!!
That is real stupid to follow the advise of these fools. I myself was a fool to have followed their advice at least once in my life and I have burnt my fingers. TV channel after channel , one professional MBA after another advise as to what to buy and when to hold or when to sell etc., Finally we lose all our money or stuck in the stock market being unable to sell the shares we bought by thinking big.
So to say we are left with a rotten apple in our hands( and many of them). And the professional with a tie and arrow shirt will have his fatty salary. That is how this world is moving on. Follow the advise of the investor who got rich in the stock market. There is a millionaire next door, find it, he may be a school head master, find out where he invested and how he got his millions. Follow them rather these anglicized profs who are far removed from realty of Indian conditions. My milk dbabbhawalla purchased two acres of land 30 km from city, for a few thousands and today in Hyderabad this fetches him (according to him) Rs 3 crores. He is far better than me and all the financial advisors , I know or heard or seen.
The author is indeed making fool of his clients and he must correct his behavior . He seems to be a flashy, show casing finance professional , forgetting the fundamental fact that SUCCESSFUL BUSINESSMEN ARE SMARTER THAN ANY WORKING EMPLOYEE OR PROFESSIONAL !

Great article. I have been in the industry. Even when you think when u r ethical, you will be doing the nonsense that the author has stated, as peer pressure will force you to do these. These are accepted as normal activities in todays world. Forget the finance industry, what about the industrial sector? Some industries know that they can get away with anything. For example, a pharma company instead of packing tablets to address eye infection, by mistake filled them with diabetes tablets. The result was many deaths. The company is still around. What about the Bhopal tragedy? What about the other MNC industries causing grave degradation to the environment (which they will not be able to do in their own countries). So every industry has its own problem regarding ethics. Many ethics are consciously forgotten. Sadly, finance Industry is no exception.
rEALLY EXCELLANT ARTICLE AND .IT REQUIRES COURAGE TO LAUGH AND CRITISIZEAT ONESELF.I WOULD LIKE TO SEE/READ THE REACTION OF OTHER BROTHERS OF sRI vEKATESH'S CLAN.PL KEEP IT UP MR MRV.
