by Anand Sharman on Jul 04, 2008 08:26 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Everybody is crying hoarse about spiriling prices, inflation, etc., but not paying an iota of attention towards collosal WASTAGE of every resource. Everybody is hell bent on wasting natural resources to best of own capacity as if there is competetion going on for 'Champion Waster'. Our country can win hands down, if an 'Olympic of Wastage' is held. We Indians are experts in wasting our precious time, energy, resources and money. And to guide and help us on this noble cause of wastage, our learned voters are choosing leaders who are expert in accelerating the cause. Those who are writing, discussing, arguing about inflation hitting the roof are from the community 50% of population who never votes. Funny indeed! So dear taxpayer, follow the golden rule, "If you cant' avoid it; ENJOY it"!!! After all we are living in self created 'WASTE-AGE"! PS : Interested in knowing an example of what and how much we are wasting?

Government must provide FREE Public Transportation across India to all its Citizens.

This will
1. Reduce demand on Oil.
2. Reduce Inflation
3. Save foreign exchange on Oil imports

Oil consumption       = 2.438 million bbl/day (2005 est.)
Oil imports       = 2.098 million bbl/day (2004 est.)

Why should Government provide the free Transportation? Ban the cars and bikes from road. They will take Public Transportation.

Are you member CPI or CPI (M)? You want every thing free. With people like you there will not any Innovations. If you know that you are not going get any thing why will give try at the least. That is the reason India has not produced a single very invention in last 53 years of independence. As a matter of fact government should not involve in the business of providing transportation. They should allow private players do such things. All they have to do is control these guys and make them to follow the law. Indian government is not doing it. Instead of making people to follow the law of the land they are involved in Business like Railway, Post Telephone etc.

BTW, who is this entity called 'Government'? From where does your 'Government' get all the money to sqander on grossly un-productive and sometimes counter-productive work? India has become a country of freebooters, demanding every thing 'Free' ofcourse at the cost of taxpayers.
