by bandu bondu on Jan 31, 2008 05:46 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Qualification does matter in TCS. In TCS they hav maintain their standerd, Suppose a good student is not get 60% means to TCS he /she is
a bad student. But practically may for any valu reaseon he would not given his best.

Small company grap them and using them and increasing their business.TCS should give chane ce to them who is so called bad in result.

IT menace
by gaurav arora on Jan 31, 2008 05:46 PM  Permalink

Hi folks ,

This is only the variable salary that is getting reduced.I am not sure how much percentage a variable salary in IT profession to the technical guy is given because i believe it will not be much as it is more prominent in sales and marketing division. The companies hardly give these variables to Technical guys as they always keep on crying for losses and the second thing they will do is a cost cutting and interestingly the first cost cutting the HR guy(I hate some of these so called intelectuals) will do is to ask the staff to recycle the pages for printing as if he saves millions in these and will revive the company from a major brink of loss.

IMPACT OF SALARY CUT
by Arun Mishra on Jan 31, 2008 05:45 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Hi All,

I can tell you the impact of salary cut of the employees of TCS on TCS. These are as follows.

1) Big attrition means big crises skilled employees.
2)Due to attrition there quality will go down due that there profit will also go down.
3) Company most part of revenue will go in training of newly hire employees.

BEST SOLUTION FOR TCS(If they are incurring loss and before sending communication of employees).
1)They should hire fresher from some IT college and trained them properly for replacement of old employees.
2)They shouldn't reduce the variable pay, they should not give hike to the employees as they are giving at the moment.

Jealous on IT people ? why ?
by Elite on Jan 31, 2008 05:43 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I don't know why some people are jealous on IT people. Not everybody is the 'cream' in the society and henc not everybody earn the same.

IT people are the cream of people with superior IQ and qualifications. There are people who earn much more than IT people so are the IT people jealous on them ? No,because they are sensible enough understand the simple concept of "survival of the fittest".

If I want to buy a car worth 40 lacs, and can't afford it the fault is mine not the car company's.I should probably settle for a lesser car.
SO STOP BEING A JEALOUS PIG AND APPLY THE LITTLE THING BETWEEN YOUR EARS.

people are ready to apply their brains into any field as long as they get paid what they feel they deserve.so,if the other sectors pay as much as this sector there 'd be no problem to anyone movnin to those sectors

Its very sad
by mangesh saraf on Jan 31, 2008 05:43 PM  Permalink

Its sad to see such situation is taking place in IT world. Looking at the past none of the companies pay bigger salaries to developers or the junior players in the team when companies make profits. All the CEOs, CFOs travel in big cars go to fancy restaurents enjoy all luxuries but people like who work hard don get that much liberties in life and in such crisis even the senior most people face such cost cutting it actually dont affect them so much but we suffer lot. Its a very bad move.

Not Fair
by rajeswara v on Jan 31, 2008 05:42 PM  Permalink

IT Biggies should look at the Top level Management and Top Middle level Managers to cut the salaries. Non performers across the levels will anyways not get any benefits. Hence it is not fair to cut the salaries of all because of external factors. The burden shud be borne by the biggies as they already are over paid because of the hype around them. It is difficult to replace an excellent performer if his salary is cut because of some X factors. I am sure companies like TCS, Wipro, Infy, Satyam would have had contingency plans for this Dollar Devaluation other than pushing the burden on employees. They shud use that strategy rather than punishing the entry level and lower middle level staff. Hopefully justice will be done to the deserved.
