Think about the environment?
by private jus on Jan 18, 2008 01:07 AM  Permalink

By far today the highest industrial pollutant is US as per their own so called survey. But the emphasis is put on controlling the pollution and directing the blame to so called developing nations worldwide and completely with ignoring the ground zero. China is blamed for polluting and is asked to slower down the steel mills coal mines power chains. Create the fear and direct the blame to whoever desired. this is wat the US pratogonists usually do. same policy n tactic repeated over an over again. i agree with one of the post here that 100 years went through in car development and none of the inventor nations thought of even talking about the cheapest car for a comman human. So wen sumthing like this comes up from some one else its being criticised in excellent proportions. if Nations should genuinely think the first priority should go for humans. Past gone years have shown a completely different arena of First world thought processes. UN seemed to be Utterly Numm wen the highest polluting wars were unfolded. Highest No. of civilian humans killed and highest no. of Child deaths reported. Humans are still suffering and will continue to suffer when these Nations does not start thinking for the real benefits of other nations and its people as one human race.

Americans learn from us
by mallavenugopal on Jan 16, 2008 09:25 PM  Permalink

Having more environmantal pollution in all american cities USA does n't have moral right to question other countries regarding environmental pollution.First let the developing countries take the breath and become competitive in the market then we can talk about other factors.Take example of China and its massive development projects. If they keep all this in mind they would not have achieved this much. Why US is trying to sell 20 billion arms to Saudi.

It is not desirable
by on Jan 16, 2008 06:48 PM  Permalink

One needs to learn from the mistakes of USA. It has no public transport, not even proper trains. Compare with Japan or Europe, USA is a primitive land where poor people, young or old need to depend on horrible Greyhound buses to go from one place to another. Within a city one cannot go anywhere without a car, this is just horrible. USA is a horrible place to live.

India will be much worse, as India has few roads and roads are narrow. If so many peole will have cars, no body will be able to move because of traffic jam.

Also India has no petrol, USA can print its own money and buy petrol, India cannot do that.

Considering everything India needs very good quality public transport, as they have in Japan and Europe.

It will be a mistake to follow USA. India should follow Japan and Europe.

there is more to it...

It is quite well known that americans live out of their "future savings". going by the same idealogy, they don't give a RAT5 ar5e if all the land mass of earth goes below sea level. Their reluctance to sign kyoto for all these years tells the story. also, quite evident from their initial statements in the climate change conference in bali.. before papua new guinea humiliated american attitude.

so, when they are not bothered about why are they creating all the fuss about TATA NANO??

answer is... OIL PRICES WILL SKY ROCKET when there are 100s of millions of more cars on Indian roads.. and that is gonna make their life really miserable.. can't imagine a day without stomping on the accelarator of their SUVs

Govt tactics
by Ninja Kirgi on Jan 15, 2008 10:46 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Manmohan Singh government got scared after seeing successful unveiling of Nano. Land is supposed to be used to make Malls and SEZs not for parking lots and roads. Isn't it? So lets criticize Tata because roads will be more congested (as if they were not earlier).
In Bangalore during peak hours it takes about 3 hours for a person to drive from heart of city to electronics city. How much difference do you think Nano will make to it? And how much difference it will make if people start following traffic rules?

When every year about one lakh vehicles are getting added on the roads of Bangalore is that not adding to congestion?

Envirinment concern
by Ninja Kirgi on Jan 15, 2008 10:31 AM  Permalink

If people are so much environmental conscious then ban any vehicle which has engine of 2.0L or larger. Ban all Hummers and Harleys and any superbikes. And ban any vehicle which is more than 10 years old. Much of the pollution problem will be solves by this small measure.

Typical white sentiment
by Arjun on Jan 15, 2008 10:09 AM  Permalink

Whites are tradiotionally racist, be it in the car manufacturing, be it on the cricket field. And the Americans are by far the worst offenders of the environment.
