Of all the concerns pointed out by various people I think the one about pollution from this car - having seen the questions about this car not meeting all the safety norms - is the most serious one. Otherwise this is pretty much a landmark invention which would change the way we live - and that is of course if this car is environment friendly - does anyone here have any idea of this car's eco-friendliness and could you share it.

Read yesterday's news - it is greener than the current crop of two wheelers and meets all Bharat iii and Euro iii emission norms.

It is Euro - III compliant and is supposedly created to easily meet the tough Euro IV norms, when they are finalised.

Dear, The car is supposed to produce less pollutants than a normal two wheeler and will give the best average. And you can trust TATA on that.

This car meets Bharat 111 standards, by that means its a green car. even Environmentalistshave accepted this fact.

I feel that you are over enthusiastic about this car and were definitely waiting for this junks since your birth! I think that now you must be waiting for a car that comes for free and the company also gives you Rs. 50000 also wuth it!. My dear car runs on petrol and not on water. Adi

@surinder nobody will understand the point about consumables... in future even X car companies will have some agreement with oil companies... to get percent share from the petrol/diesel sales consumed by there X vehicles... then you may get cars for free in future...anyways TATA has done a great thing we have to appreciate him

Congrats Mr. Tata... u have acheived the one where everyone else said its impossible. Now, the world will wake up for a new INDIA.. a country that has immense potential not only in IT but in other sectors too
Every one is trying show wisdom by saying it will create stress on traffic etc - all shitting
There is no other company in world who can do this miracle. Biggest reason is TATA STEEL supplies steel for this car at low price. Ratan TATA has already planned to sell this car everywhere in world. When this happens - TATA will crush all car manufacturers in world the way Japanese did - Maruti - Honda - Hyundai - remember these are not indian but earning money from Indian.
Now it is time that INDIA WILL EARN MONEY IN WORLD BY SELLING 1 LAC CAR

whoever told you this car will be entirely made of steel?Check on the statistics.
THERE IS NO DOUBT INDIAN CITY ROADS WILL BE FLOODED BY CARS IN THE COMING YEARS. BUT IF YOU SAY IT BECAUSE OF ONLY RS. 1 LAKH CAR. IT IS WRONG. IT MEANS A LOWER MIDDLE CALSS FAMILY SHOULD NOT ACQUIRE A CAR AND ON THE OTHER SIDE RICHER CLASS CAN GO FOR STYLISH CARS SPENDING LAVISHLY. THIS IS TOO MUCH.
IT IS A RIGHT THING TO THINK ABOUT DECONGESTING CENTRES OF CITIES AND TOWNS BY ALLOWING CARS ONLY 3 OR 4 kms NEAR TO THE CITY AND FROM THERE EVERYBODY SHOULD TAKE PUBLIC TRANSPORT TO REACH CITY CENTRES.
HOPE THIS CAN SOLVE TRAFFIC CONGESTION TO AN EXTENT

Good thought. Another way could be charging a heavy tax on second car owned within a family.
TATAS HAS GIVEN A NEW VISION & DIEMENSION FROM TIME TO TIME . A REAL INDIAN . WE SHOULD BE PROUD OF THIS. WHAT THE WORLD & ALL TECHNO PEOPLE TOLD AS IMMPOSSIBLE , INDIANS HAS DONE IT . HATTS OFF TO RATAN TATA.
Good job givinng a diffrant prospective .But let me make one thing clear ,Price plays a smaller role in car marketing (why alto outsales M800).Tata has to go a long run bafore making a product cost effective to valu effective but in any case Gr8 job don by Tata
The worlds'cheapest car made in India by the Great TATAs is really a history provided the car gives the safety, emission norms and other features of advantage on comparison to its counterpart. Shurely, the new car will boost the sale and the number of vehicle in indian roads will increase geomatrically. However, have we ever though of the exhausting hydrocrbon fuel in the world. We are flooding with vehicles in the road with new advantage and features but tomorrow when the fuel ends what is the alternative for running the present machines? I feel rather going for a cheaper car we should invent some means to meet the requirement of human being in an ever lasting way, otherwise we may have to keep our vehicles in the shed permanently, in the near future.

Guys i will explain people like "Subbu G". These are kind of people.. who, at an moment, whenever get an Idea/thought. the very next moment they get another thought.."That their first thought is not only correct, but best in the world"...
So.. let them do their buk-buk.. However, My opinion is... The Small Car will not bring is hope to people who were not aspiring to buy car, so far... but it will also provide work(or business) opportunity to many Indians... Specially to labor class, who needs it most..
When lacks of extra cars at roads.. clearly extra work force is needed to maintain them.
also tata is planning to get the Cars assembled Externally. That's again a business opportunity to many Indians.
