Envy, hatred and discrimination
by Freedom on Jan 11, 2008 04:13 PM  Permalink

The 1 lak car has made World take a special note on India%u2019s Tata, but damm are more greet to see Indians doing all sort of surprise things. Many western foreign media had covered and conveyed it with words of hatred. Even the all new Indian Icon Modi is not spared from this. So, after Mittal it is Tata. People should check and see the same reports including from Y! and see how from their eyes.

NANO
by srinivasa viswanathan on Jan 11, 2008 04:12 PM  Permalink

Mr Ratan deserves all congrats, as he did what he has said. The Promise made is kept. Though experience will make us to believe, rhe fact that it has passed all Road tests give us that confidence that NANO is a nice car not only by name but as a product. If all players on the road are disciplined, everyone will say,' kahona, NANO'.

everyone, stick to your job
by bharat b oswal on Jan 11, 2008 04:12 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Mr.Tata is a industrialist/capitalist. His job is to look for a demand and meet it to enhance the value of the companies he runs. And mind you, his companies are public limited companies having thousands of Indians as shareholders. He is doing his job. And the group he heads does not just makes automobiles.
Instead of criticizing the TATAS for Nano, the government should be held accountable for failing to provide the basic infrastructure, be it roads, water, public transportation etc.
And last but not the least, it is the government, mainly the lower house of the parliament which is the main culprit 'company', having almost 500 CEO's with a dubious track record whom we have elected to enact laws for us to follow. Fault lies within us.

Nice Work
by ADITYA GUPTA on Jan 11, 2008 04:11 PM  Permalink

Sir,
Your analysis of the whole thing is really beautiful.
It definitely is a new beginning where we Indians hold a chance to show are real capabilities. We should rise above the whole thing of criticizing the idea of the small car and work together to generate more of these revolutionary ideas.

Thank u sir
by Senthil Kumar on Jan 11, 2008 04:05 PM  Permalink

Thanks a ton to Mr Tata sir for making india feel proud across the globe. It is fact that all indians have read papers and felt proud across the globe starting from australians to the dominating americans. Once again my sincere and heartfull thanks to Mr TATA.
One suggestion as it always goes that there is always a scope for improvement, shall we not do something for the rising fuel cost. Like a drem come true of "car at 1 lakh" can we not try to dream something for "litre of petrol at 10 rupees"... We indians need this also sir, request u to do something on this account as well. We indians are proud and we have now reached an elegant place in the global automotive market. BBYE TO TOYOTA,OPEL AND FORD.

You can go for any bi-cycle which will be prised at less than your 15K. Two wheeler for you is bi-cyle and four wheeler is the cart (used by the road-side vendor).

CAR NO LONGER MONOPOLY OF RICHER CLASS
by gaurang patel on Jan 11, 2008 04:03 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Thanks to TATAS for making their promise come true. Now Indian Middle class families can also afford the luxury of going in car or atleast owing an small car. I remember the incident when rain was coming & my kid was ill. I had to take him to Doctor & no rickshaw was available & i can't go on bike as it was raining hard. At that time i had to borrow car from my neighbour/friend. But now i will buy "nano" & use it for my familiar purpose as well for picnic. Thanks to TATA's for providing this small car.

This is the spirit!!! and Mr. TATA has specially accepted this challenge - Once while enroute to Office in his car- he saw a guy driving in heavy rain with his wife and two kids all drenched - it was then that the idea first struck him!!

TATA NANO
by Mahadevan Balakrishnan on Jan 11, 2008 04:03 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It is the best thing that had happened to hassled Chennaites.. Travelling in Chennai auto is a nightmarish experience and the drivers demand the cost of Auto from each passenger.

Wish the basic version had the powersteering. That would have made many woman folks life a lot more easier in Chennai and may in other cities as well

the card is so small that it hardly requires a power stering. i have driven maruti alto with power stering and maruti 800 without power steering. i could hardly make the difference. its only in big cars like SUV's that the power steering is of any use
