Tata is the best role model for Indian industry abroad
by Hari on Jan 11, 2008 02:41 PM  Permalink

One of the greatest pains to human nature is the pain of a new idea. It...makes you think that after all, your favorite notions may be wrong, your firmest beliefs ill-founded... Naturally, therefore, common men hate a new idea, and are disposed more or less to ill-treat the original man who brings it.
-Walter Bagehot Physics and Politics

The powerful statement I feel is apt for the disruptive technology that is the $ 2500 car. Hats off to TATA who made the impossible dream a concrete and exciting possibility. We all are waiting to own drive nano one day.

After seeing the Tata Nano launch,What ratan tata did was right.Infrastructure development is in the hands of government. If government gets more money in the form of taxes accrued from Tata nano sales and other cars,Why can't it develop infrastructure.Coming to oil spending india has to increase,Who know Tata nano comes in various models which use alternative fuels like solar,Hydrogen,Gas and etc.Why do we stop people's car fearing risks?.Indians need to be risk takers and should make better place for our future generation.

Not much hype needed
by mahesh muliyala on Jan 11, 2008 02:37 PM  Permalink

At the out look, pricing seams afordable to present day 2wheeler owner, the shift may not be much.
This is because in maintenace/ruuning cost there is waste diffrence b/n the Two.
So Tata if bring LPG verson or achive 30-35 milage then only it will become realy a people's car.

Let the world realise
by Aftab on Jan 11, 2008 02:34 PM  Permalink

If we go back to history we find that pre Industrial revolution, most of the invention too place in Asia and mainly by India, China , Egypt and persia.

The centre of spritual power too was Asia as Christ(PBUH), Muhammmad (PBUH)and other were born in Asia.

The industrial revolution and scientific discovries gave Europe & America a big boost. Science was thought to be a big BHOOT but once we overpowered, success will have no option but to knock our door.

We produce 5 lakh engineers and europe 5 lakh garage mechanic, salesperson and this is a sign that India will overtake all the super Powers excet China in next couple of decades.
