The root cause for all troubles is the incompetent Manmohan Singh
by srinivasa rao on Jan 05, 2008 06:45 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It should not be forgotten that Praful Patel, Civil Aviation Minister did not have an electoral base and entered the Parliament through back door (Rajya Sabha). He is only acquiring a large fleet of new planes means, there will be huge kick backs in their purchases and the scam will surface when he demits his office when the present UPA Govt will be voted out of power in the imminent General Elections to the Parliament. His only qualification to hold the post is that he is the chamcha of NCP controversial, power crazy Sarad Pawar who is dreaming to become the PM.
Manmohan Singh is to be blamed for all the ills plaguing the society as he is found to be unfit to hold the post of P.M. who has absolutely no control over his council of ministers. He is only a stooge and a puppet and does not have political wisdom, sagacity and does not deserve to be the P.M. Just, see one unsavoury instance as to how he could not discipline the immature and psychopath Health Minister Ambumani Ramdoss. Manmohan Singh's tenure as Indian PM shall be a black chapter in the history of India.

Great, the next time my flight is delayed or if i dont get a veg meal inspite of ordering one, I should ring up the PMO and give Dr Singh an earful. Fantastic idea. We really need such bright ideas for our country.

shame
by Girish B on Jan 05, 2008 05:09 AM  Permalink

your article describes the best the dangers of landing in indian airports, least described the alertness of pilots who are experienced in handling these issues, if no untoward incident has been reported yet this is because of careful and observant pilots, this needs to be highlighted, needless to mention that infrastructure at ATC needs improvement.

Who cares ? Cricket is more important to the nation !
by Ravi Subramaniam on Jan 05, 2008 02:45 AM  Permalink

Lets not worry about the safety or environmental standards. Standards such as ISO 14001:2004 or ISo14004:2004 means nothing to Indian People and its government, but the focus is on the Cricket match played in Australia.

Give anything to a sarkari employee and he will mess it up
by surinder garg on Jan 05, 2008 12:11 AM  Permalink

Our sarkari employees are lazy, incompetent, corrupt, believe in red tapism, want safe assignments without work. They mess up everything. Salary is remuneration for only coming and going back from office. Rest they must get some Gandhi Allowance, otherwise they do not work.
I have about 40 jobs completed for 3 govt organisations and they did not pay. They openly demand bribe and they will not pay even if we go to Supreme Court. They are crooks and thiefs. Aviation sector should be privatised or they should be made to pay the cost of these lapses.

I wonder how they missed to report few of the recent incidents
by NoWay Out on Jan 04, 2008 11:58 PM  Permalink

This is just a few which are listed. There are many more reported during the last three months time. Its real dangerous situations in our airports. We are not learning from our mistakes and we are not avoiding any chance for another incident happening. No corrective actions no preventive actions, only offers of bullshit politicians

How safe are the Indian skies?
by vikas ekhande on Jan 04, 2008 08:51 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Will rediff take the efforts to get the airpots improved? We all know now its pretty dangerous situation and if accidents happen it will claim innocent lives and will give India a bad name in the International market. Our competitors like Pakistan, China, etc... are striving hard to prosper........

First the Civil Aviation Minister should be sacked who knows nothing other than buying new aeroplaness and then his mentor Sharad Pawar, who is BCCI President and doesn't know how to hold a bat. These people are jeopardising the lives of the citizens of this country.

by VIP on Jan 04, 2008 08:49 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I KNOW ABOUT THE SUFFERINGS AND STRESS OF THE AIRTRAFFIC CONTROLLERS DUE TO SHORTAGE OF TRAINED ATCS IN AREA,TOWER,RADAR.AAI SQUEEZE THE MAXIMUM POTENTIALS OF ALL ATCS,PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY.AND ALSO THEY ARE NOT PAID ACCORDING TO THE STRAIN AND STRESS THEY UNDERGO.HANDLING HEAVY TRAFFIC WITHOUT PROPER REST BRINGS HELTH COMPLICATIONS IN MANY. WHEN COMPARED WITH THE SALARIES OF THEIR FOREIGN ATC COLLEAGUES,THE INDIAN WAGES ARE LIKE A SLICE OF BREAD LOAF TO A DOG!!!

If wages/ salaries of ATC are low, then they should resign their jobs and leave the organisation. If foreigners get better pay, they can go abroad for better pay, instead of working wihout care.If at all they want to continue to work, work with diligence and care and not put others'lives at risk. We will seriously take action to privatize airport management.

Please dont walk to the cockpit

An article with good intentions. But what kind of journalism is this. Isnt there a copy editor who eyeballs these article. It is an offence and people can get arrested under the new antiterror laws if they go up to the cockpit.

You stupid, it was said, to bring it to your notice, how stressed out the pilots are to save your life. Nobody is asking you to actually go inside the cockpit to see what is happening there. It is because of you fools the country is not improving and politicians are getting away with their misdeeds.
