Tata is buying these two companies only koz that they are coming at a very very competitive proces...jus a few years back Ford had bot them for more then 12 bills...and now after recurrent losses they jus want to dump out these two brands just for 2.5bills!!!
Its a deal for TATAS, but can they handle it?? thats the worry...
For people who commented on my last comment: FYI guys...plz look out of the Indian umbrella, no one knows Tata, reliance or watever!!! Tata dont have a global brand value to market their name with luxuary cars...
Look how it sounds...TATA a economy car maker of india, a big name in IT consulting..steal maker etc etc...buys luxuary Car Brand...does it suit the portfolio...does it sound amazing to these foreigners???
Btw...After toyota taking over Lexus, LEXUS is no more the brand it used to be!!! WAKE UP!!!

Nobody knows TATA!!! That's a strange statement. Tata owns Tetley, Corus and another few small steel mills in UK .
So many people in UK are familiar with TATA name.
Tata buses are sold in many parts of Africa too.
Tatas introduced 8-hour shifts for their workers in early 1900, while western countries were exploiting their own workers.
And FYI..... TATAs have good financial advisors of their own. They don't need your insipid advise.

Tata will be classed only successful, when they show the annual report of how many they have sold in a year, that they are producing more then waht ford was and sales are high. Obviously this will happen because Tata will not pay the worker same wages as the ford did, salary in the west is 30times more then what is in India, where an average Indian earns 4lak an average person in west earns 30 Thousend Pounds a year Cheap labour will show profit. As for sales time will tell, I hope this does not become a national embarrassment.

why looking only at TATA selling the Jag and Rovers only in Europe. They can anyways sell in India at more competitive prices. Why would any one buy a Jag with more price than what you get in India. No import taxes... Thats business mate.
Good news but this will be better if the angel on earth Shilpa Shetty is made to model for these cars...just her name with these cars will bring in trillions of dollars for Tatas, that is the power of this magnificient one... I have written poem on this Bharat Ratna..please read..
Hail Shilpa Shetty, Hail Shilpa, the beauty queen.. Oh how fortunate we are to see you preen..
Such beauty, such grace, such poise.. Your radiance causes such noise...
Blessed are we the folks on earth... Coz we are born to be alive when you have been walking proud from Patiala to Perth..

POOPA you are as stupid as your name...y do u waste ur time on such intellectual comments!!! better start doing something more constructive with yourself.....
Tata is the preferred bidder. Bullsh#t. Actually there is no other bidder in line as good as Tata. Tata has over bid the value of the two companies and has been very generous in its post acquisation staffing commitments.
But still the Angrej are trying to be boss and dictate their terms. Tata should be rough with them. Same as Mittal happens to be. Should be something like Accept the offer, or leave the boat, its my boat kind of attitude.
Proud to be an Indian yaar. When TATA had taken over Tetley for a big amount, every one was wondered what they are going to do? But the TATA's shown the world that they know how to run a business. With the ever brilliant Indian brains behind them this deal will be a great success in the history of world business. They know how to place the product. A Jaguar will be placed as a Jaguar. Not as an Indica. We all Indians should be proud of this achievement. Hats off to Ratan Tata and team.
Guys, this is common knowledge that Rover and Jag are both obsolete brands in Europe. Their respective markets have crashed all over the EU and has practically no future their. Tatas are also planning to buyout their production facilities which means heavier costs of production and no immediate returns until Tata's somehow miraculously discover and reap benefits from newer markets....Rover has a history of breakdowns and is no longer in production or circulation in the UK....

Excuse me buddy..... It's not Rover that Tata is bidding for, it's Land Rover. Rover was sold to the Chinese in 2006. Land Rover is stil in production. Check out their website.
All said and done ppl...let aside the Indianness feelings...
Its going to be a very very bad strategic decision if luxuary brands like Jag and rover is taken over by an economic car maker like TATA. This step will degrade the brand value of the two Luxuary brands...
Jus t to show u wat I mean.... Will you buy a luxuary car worth a million names MARUTI???
Guee you will understand wat i mean...otherwise its a matter of pride to all the indians living abroad that an Indian company will own such brands!!!

Wake up buddy its 21st century.
Your chai from star bucks and some other corner shop in back alleys of india may be brewed out of leaves from the same tea plant.

Around the globe there are a lot of companies running paralell companies or brands for their luxury brands for e.g. Lexus & Toyota, Infiniti & Nissan, Porche-Audi & Volkswagen and many more in europe too. The Tatas can run the acquired entities on the same lines as far as branding is concerned and bring about cost effectiveness at the same time to make them profitable and in return the Tatas would get a handy experience of latest car technology to boost their own line of vehicles and become a true global car company with diverse product portfolio. Yes it is a difficult task but there no cake walks my friend. If Tatas are successful it can drastically change their position.
