rail budget
by sidhartha mohapatra on Feb 26, 2008 03:37 PM  Permalink

This year rail budget is quite good & common man oriented but it cannot be said as best budget. I thanks to Hon'ble Minister Mr. Yadav that he shows such kindness towards common man, but still i have a complain before Hon'ble Minister that he should make some provision about the cleanliness inside the train especially in pantry cars & in toilets. In almost all trains the cattering system is very poor except few trains and also quality & quantity of the food all very low as compar to its price. Because the price what they are taking is very high than out side hotels. So i have a request to Mr. Hon'ble Minister please kindly consider on this matter.

We should not play politics in this.

Lalu has done good job... Nithish had 5 years to make it profitable...; still not able to make it.

yea ur right, nitish kumar layed the foundation for a more efficient railway policy just before he left the rail minister post, and now lalu has used it effectively.

and by the way the actual persons who create the railway policy and manage the railways are the persons who actually work under the minister, the minister only gives the final ok to the policies and budget keeping his interests in mind.

But the Minister has to OK the policy. These managers and officers were available to Nitish Kumar, mamata banerjee and other earlier Railway ministers? Why they were not able to make a profit making railway budget.????????

Next time, Laloo deserve to be FM
by GHAATEE on Feb 26, 2008 03:36 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Lalu Yadav is the nice example of using beaucracy for delivering the good to people of India. Call him by any name, but you can not deny the fact that, he has taken some of the measures to curb the costs and got the Railway money back from State Electicity boards and other ministries. He is the perfect example of using his political powers for goodness of people.

Can our finance minister take a clue from him, probably, I doubt the same. He does not have sympathy for general public....He has not seen the village life...He had no relative as farmer, who has committed sucide....

To him saving stock market and corporate sector is important. He knows only one way...Milk people as much as you can....Put as much indirect taxes or surcharges as you can (Same way as previous Rail ministers used to increase fares for all sorts of reasons...). Mr. Chidambaram....here is some home work for you...provided you are interested in it...

If Lalu prasad yadav was Finance Minister, he would have given similar rebates in income tax rates. Pray God that next election he wins and is given the Portfolio of FM.

Spot on mate...100%. I too wish the same...Chidambaram has not seen the 'Poverty' and middle class struggle. Therefore, it is not his fault....Why to stress mind, when you can directly milk money from poor and middle class thru service taxes, surcharges and direct taxes...Keep giving TAX amanesty to TAX invaders......

And Sequrity aspect Laloo did nothing in last time. Buggest is bit good, but IMPLEMENT of that is very hard.

Good Idea Sanjay,

Lalu should have got more money from market by raising Rail IPO.

I guess, he is still learning; he should have taken help of PM and FM for this.

Raising money from market could have allowed him to build better rail infrastructure.
