Good suggestion. Sir. M.V. instead of some politician. The great man has built wonderful projects like the KRS dam (Brindavan gardens), the jayanagar colony in Bangalore, to name just two of his works. Jayanagar is the best planned layout even today in Bangalore.

U ppl are right. Im obsessed with the Nehru's and the Gandhi's every where, when they have not done anything to these lands / states. Hyderabad Airport was named after Rajiv Gandhi Airport. I want to ask some one to explain the reason behind this when he has not even done min required work for hyderabad. NTRama Rao or PV Narasimha Rao would have been a better choice
Its good that Airport has been built but the crucial thing is, it should be maintained properly and regularly which are not done by the government, and ofcourse, people also.

:) BTW, nothing personal in my above post. I was just laughing at the person who claimed it to be the biggest one.

Ha ha haa. Even I would like to meet this idiot who told you this is the biggest. Maybe the biggest ego. Or, maybe the Hyderabad airport has the bigger ego.
I hope it really turns out to be a good airport. This time I was at the Mumbai domestic airport and saw that they had spent so much on granite (and carpets at the international airport). It would have been better if they had spent it on proper gates. They still take you on a bus to the aircraft and vice versa. By having proper gates, the turnaround time would have been cut to half, but I guess that is the way we do it. Similarly, if you are in transition to the international airport, there is a slope from the transition gate (at the domestic airport) to the waiting bus. Due to this slope, it is very difficult for passengers to control their luggage which either turns to run away or just tips over. Arriving at the Mumabi international terminal, you discover that the bus approaches on the right side (and not on the left side). Passengers have to get down on the left side where cars and other traffic move around without a care, and sometimes rain adds to the problems. When you see women with luggage and children just trying to get down from the transit bus to go inside, you know how horrible it is. We just hope and pray Bengaluru International (or Hyderabad International) are better

Keep dreaming. I have also seen Mumbai. Their domestic and international terminals are a big waste of money without achieving any service improvements. I saw women and children struggling while getting down from the transit bus at the international terminal. What makes you think Bangalore will be better? As of now, not only is it going to take 4 hours to get to the new airport, it is also going to cost at least Rs1000 in transportation and another Rs1000 in taxes.
By the time it comes into full service,it will be out of date with out of date technology. Some more money will be spent on updating and some more pockets of MP and other senior figures will get lined, some more bank balances will get fatter. well done India.
Now that we are almost done, let's name the airport after Rajeev Gandhi, or Sonia Gandhi's cousin's newphew in Italy, or Deve Gowda's mother!!!!
One thing though, have they at least had the sense to plan for the possibility of having rental car counters and car-parks in the future or have they planned it the Indian way?

Good one...On your query about Rent-A-car, I read somewhere that passengers can do it. I think they are having a Hertz facility included.
Bangalore is a bakwas place. It can never match with the true cosmopolitan city Mumbai. Bangalore is a noveau city as in noveau rich. Mumbai has been an established city since decades.Mumbai looks like a real city whereas Bangalore looks like a town city in some parts and village city in others. Also Bangalore is a loser from it's geographical placement also. Mumbai is a coastal city. So it's so beautiful. Only sore point in Mumbai now is that stupid Raj Thackeray.

You mean Mumbai, the city where more than 65 % people live in slums, millions infected with AIDS and cant earn a proper meal a day ? I guess people need something to feel proud of. But if I were you,I'd do something to the millions of people living in absolutely disgusting conditions right around my neighborhood before running my mouth that my city is better than any other.
