I am very happy that my words came true
by varughese k t on Feb 25, 2008 01:24 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Today, I am happy that what I said once(on 03-FEB-05)in this column has proved true now. See the first few lines of my old comment:-
Subject: Of course Laluji is a real visionary

What Mr. Premchand Guha observed about Laluji is agreed by many of Laluji's fan. laluji is a politician who can win people's heart with his simplicity, uprightness, love for humanism and his rational view on any matters put to him. For the same reason he presents himself as a visionary with a mission for national prosperity or for the welfare of people.

Rail budget
by Manali Thomas on Feb 25, 2008 01:23 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Lalu's budget being presented in Lok Sabha is his last budget presentation in LS. What people don't know is the profit is by increasing the usable capacity of freight corridors. This corridor and facilities ar being overused, which is baad for the railings and wagons in the years to come. The optimum capacity is being utilised. Our railway lines and wagons will become useless within next 6 years, where as their life was more than 11 years when it was used meticulously. Lalu is milching the railway as the way he used fodder from the fodder scam. His father in law and his servant's distant relative travels freely in AC compartment, when we stand in queue and get 2nd class ticket on waiting list.

Hello,

I am not trying ti justify mr LALU .... but for your kind information there are more than 1.6 Million employees in Indian Railway who got free pass to traven in rails...and around 70% of these got first class pass.... so its not totally correct to blame lalu only

They are employees and their relatives. They atleast work one or two hours for Railways and contribute something to the working of the system. What was Lalu's father-in-laws contribution to Railways which enabled him to be first class AC compartment when he was caught???

Raj need not learn from this Chor Lalu. Have you read that when the records of fodder scam was scrutinized, fodder weighing 2 tons, were being transported on vehicles which had the registration of scooters. Raj did not cheat poor cows and bufallows.

Laoo

Dear Friends

Stop talking non sense. We all know what corrup person he is. If is not the credit of Laloo, that railway is in profit. It is the credit of all the officers, advisers , workers.

Don't take away their credit. Nothing except reading the budget, traveling freely (with his family, in laws etc) done by him. He is a big shame for our country.

Nepotism and Corruption have to be checked from the very top i.e. the Congress and BJP leardership. How we can expect anyone to be honest in a Polity where everyone expects corruption? The Railway "officers" are among the most corrupt Government Employees. Just witness the amount of money collected openly from last minute travellers for "seat allotment" in all popular trains.

Don't vent your Marathi sentiments here. What no Railway minister could do in decades, this man did it. and if you are talking about bureaucrats, they have always been there. why didn't this happened before. Everyone he is fouled politician. If you can get him punished, please do that. But if has done some good work, at least applaud him. Chop you thackrey statements.

I dont support lalu politicis.. but tell me, were those officials and diplomats not in railways before lalu. why the railway was in such huge loss before him. and if not to his credit for renewal or raliway then who is the real leader for this improvement. why he is invited in IIM to lecture. why people from haward coming to take management lesson. dont they know that it is not lalu but officials who did the magic. remember friend,in war its soldiers who fight, but its commander who is the real man behind that. hope u understand what i mean. feel free to bash lalu as i am with u. but talk reasonably

These officers, advisors and workers were there when Ram Naik and Nitesh were Railway ministers. Whey they did not make this kind of budget. Dont just go on blabbering Nitin.. grow up. You can't appreciate good deeds when Lalu is doing it. Even if this is at the expense of security and deterioration of the railway line and wagons, the budget is still appreciable.

doing what should have been done
by Ashok Gupta on Feb 25, 2008 01:01 PM  Permalink

Love him or dislike him Mr Prasad has proved himself to be an able Railway Minister. His predessors did not do what they should have done. He was in the dock and ousted as CM of Bihar and had a point to prove,he was looked down upon and his infamous fodder scam case is still hanging till eternity - hence this was his chance to prove which he has. Good for the country the people and Mr Prasad. The difference is for all to see.He has plugged the holes from where reveue was draining.
