A best FM looks into all angles of the hardships of its people, all those people invested in small savings have been proved fools, with inflation high, and people hmade huge money in market manipulations/real estate/speculation in commodity exchnage, and all those who work hard have been proved fools. FM failed to see the good interest of honest tax payers, and the govt is blind to the full scle black money flowing in political/govt srvants cartels. Business men have proved fools, like serving false god rather than serving the nation, all that is collected in tax is being wasted, without any plans and actions. For vote banks, and not a healthy economy.Giving subisidy/free perks has made poor indians look like beggars, what if indians are poor they cannot be called as beggars, so the govt should done out with grace to the needy, we can imagine how these poor will be treated as third grade in the lower rungs of the govt heirarchy
A good Finance Minister is one who will take the nation economically forward by taking its people economically forward. He is one who will ensure that the Taxes collected are honestly utilized to deliver the optimum result.
In that sense, India is yet to see a Good Finance Minister. But, the present FM is hardly anywhere near to being called a good FM. The growth of 9% being talked about does not reflect in the improved living of a whole lot of people. He is particularly severe on one or two sections of society for achieving his tax collection plans. He seems to be particularly prejudiced against this section, namely the middle class and salaried class.

hahaah big joke. Can you justify how much affect a finance minister gave to the hardworking class? Either manmohan or chidambaram all are utter nonsense FMs and only yeshwant sinha did something well.
Its Yashwant Sinha definitely. Manmohan singh was just following PV Narasimha Rao's orders, and today he is following Sonia's orders. Chidambaram is highly overrated.
Quite obviously,Manmohan Singh,PC and Yashwant Sinha.I would like to give one suggestion here.Make any Finance Professional like a CA the FM of India and he will also be able to deliver the goods!
Our FM and PM are not knowing the miseries of poor and lower middle income groups, which are more than 50%, as they have seen only the silver spoon. They are interested to recover more and more taxes - affecting poor and needy.Say Income tax-most impractical,FM considers everyone as thief, instead of making it SARAL for a common man, expect everyone to get it filled through an agent, creating fear etc.,etc.,
Manmohan Singh. He is the man triggered changes of liberalization (impact on poor, still to be discussed)! It has given jobs and hopes to millions of educated youth! India could tape the opportunities arised across the globe especially in services! It is not just Manmohan's magic but as a person who implemented the changes and drive the country through critical time, he is the best.
Mr.Chidambaram is not a transparent personality like Manmohan. He is basically a business man. One thing is sure that, in case of Manmohan, we won't be surprised to know his wealth of 1000s cr when he dies, like Pramod Mahajan (we thought he is a good politician and Minister, by mistake).

man mohan is a kora kagaz like lal bahadur sastri, but has no leader ship like him. but chidambaram is a as said a superb richest FM.looks innoscent, sincere, good, smart and the rest is our history and misery
Manmohan Singh without a doubt was India's best finance minister! This man PC is a Sonia stooge. Unfortunately, so is Manmohan... so i guess that would make sonia the fm, the pm, etc.. however, I do maintain that Manmohan has been India's finest finance ministers.
