what are the criterion to determine these, if the city like chandigarh is not here. does it include the drama of politicians which is being happened in the mumbai i am not opposed to such ratings given by rediff but this should also include the city like chandigarh and also at the same time should not forget to Jaipur also which is going to lead in a very different way.

growth rate is measured in terms of GDP. Here CDP! that is value of good and services produced in the city. The write up ranked cities in terms of change in CDP between two consecutive years. Chandigarh and Jaipur have higher CDP than Burdwan. But the Growth of CDP in these two cities are less. For example, China has a higher growth rate than USA but USA is still much bigger than China.

Nothing changed in bardhaman in last 100 years, nothing is going to change in next 100 years.Development in bardahman town...wuhh...must be the biggest joke of century...
How can we say these cities are growing?? All these cities are grown with pollution, full off crowds, traffic JAM,power cutt problems, water problems, bomb spot and terror attacks.
hyderabad one of the prime cities for IT in india is lying in 7th spot andn cities like surat and ahemdabad are way far in front of them..once upon a time hyderabad was considered the best under the guidance of CEO N.Chandraabu Naidu, now cong govt has brought it down, congrats to Modi

once a city develops too fast, it is difficult to develop at higher pace..surat/a'bad are smaller so it is easier for them to develop faster..
its great to see b'lore and bomaby still on the list..imagine an elephant getting bigger

I think Chaman Chambu you din't read the article well. It says 11.5% for the past 7 fiscal years.
Anyways about the credit to Modi, look what has happened to Baroda. It was the best city to live in Gujarat and the second best city overall after big sister ahmedabad. Only because of godhra and post godhra the city has become one of the second worst (after ahmedabad :) ) now! Surat was sort of untouched by the violence at that time hence it managed to grow.
