all this was relevant before 1990. now there is cable/satellite tv in even small towns of india, people see same old channels like CNN IBN, STar Plus, NDTV, Sony etc, supermarkets are mushrooming in every corner of india due to reliance and aditya birla retail chains, all payments can be done by credit card from anywhere in india. basically whole of india is just becoming a homogeneous entity like USA.

A Lot all cities doesent have proper secutiry system,cultutal Integration and dont even compare any of our states with USA.They are far ahead in everything,here we have only dool drums.We have nothing of them more than offshoring of all their industries,Our Indian Industries many of them wont even stand a chance of USA.We are 70 Years behind them.The time you are reading my words it has been thousand times scanned by US Security and Domestic Agencies for their purpose.We are just using Internet and latest technology as a plumber temporarly close a tap for leak.We are not them even we work there as our country is really poor country.Now a Medium Country.To become Rich and Developed it will take us 140 Decades.Mostly after 50 Cycles of Human Civilization Change in the Globe.

I think rediff has given the report based on the 04 Metros and the cities where IT Sector exists. I think you should visit places like Madhya Pradesh & Kerala where u would find the real boom. My personal choice is Jabalpur (M.P)

This is partly right; not only auto, all provisions, house rents, bad road, polluted air, harsh & senseless driving, useless cinemas, high cost of living, brainless schools, heartless hospitals, in top POLITICIANS, money minded cheif minister family members are also the reason for chennai to be kept out of running for great city
chennai is surrounded by Coovam river , really stinking and breed for various insects, all over the city this river isrunning, adjoining places ofthis riverinside city you can see full of mosqitos , and people urinate wherever possible, and the new contractor cleaning thewate material is not doing a good job, so many road side restrarant spoiling the city , better to go out of city ifyou want clear air andwater , a lot of fly over has to come if you want to deconjust

I agree,Chennai Kovam never changes.Compared to Mumbai-Delhi-Banglore-Pune chennai is nothing.Cutlurley chennai is lacking.Property rates goes very high and then very down.Facilities go high and then nothing.Every Goverment Change all changes.I feel ashamed.Crime Rates very high then when controlled medium,Height is it has got all nonsence e-crimes.When i see mumbai its very well developed.Every thing is developed even crimes but they are controlled.Property Rates are Very Very High.No 1 in India.But if u buy here its an utter waste as maintanance is also high.If Compared with Kolkatta dont compare.Kolkatta not good.Pune is the best city but very unfriendly people.high in property and crimes too.

10% growth rate of Elephant and 10% growth rate of Mouse cannot be compared yaar. Mumbai is bigger than combined all cities of Gujrat.
Mumbai GDP in just service IT and finance sector is bigger than any states combined GDP of AGRI, INDUSTRY & Service-Finance sector of any Indian State.
One Marathi cities one sector GDP is greater than Any whole state. So you have give credit to Maha CM and politicians.

Wake up to reality, i lived in Chennai for four years. It is good only at making large noises of minor improvements. And cost of living in chennai is definitely more than Banglore and Delhi. Mumbai may be costlier.
And the preachers of safety in Chennai, if crime is not reported, it doesnt mean that crime is low. Also, safety is not just from crime. Remember TSUNAMI
