Chinese have a repect for their culture
by Kvins on Aug 09, 2008 12:03 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Chinese have a respect for their culture and that is what was demonstrated in Olympics Opening ceremony ..

Unlike India no one cares about it.. We have Italian Super PM who was wearing track suit... and then half hybrid childrens .. half indian / other half Italian ...

The otherone is a speechless PM .. who never speaks in Hindi .. while this has nothing to do with the nation .. but the Chinese president gave his entire lecture in Chinese lang.. rather than the English Lang ( Popular / more common lang ) ..
while some may argue this has nothing to do with the Country .. but that is what the difference between China and India

Communication is for convinience. It has to be understood well by the listener. Otherwise the conversation is lost. China has lost many of the businesses and political meetings because they couldnot communicate in English and India has benifitted. Software and BPO's are classic examples. If you talk about independence day speech, republic day speeches in hindi is understandable. Here you are addressing the world and not china alone.

Every country speaks their own language in any occasion then there are translators to do the rest. If you think knowing English is going to get jobs and China has lost these due to not knowing English, THINK AGAIN!
Which country has the highest industrial production in the world? Which country has a growth rate of 10% and more? Which country has a trade surplus and practically rules the world economically without having dropped one single destructive bomb or gunshot? Which country refuses to be dictated to on any policy foreign or internal? Which country sits at the table of every international institution?
Certainly not English speaking India.

India at Olympics
by Proud Shaitan on Aug 09, 2008 11:22 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

If india needs to win a medal in olympics then the IOC needs to introduce corruption as one sport. I am sure India will definitely bag all three medals hands down.

Today is second day of the third test match, and our beloved country is aiming at "conquering the world" by beating sri lanka! When 110 Billion people are worried about this "feat", the rest of the world is running after some silly medals. Ridiculous

In the Commonwealth Games of 2002 Indian women's Hockey team won the Gold meadal by defeating Australia and Great Britain who came 2nd and 3rd respectively. So it could have happend again had the Indian women's Hockey team qualified this time.

India Shinning
by gargi mallik on Aug 09, 2008 10:49 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

A hell lot of Indians would have landed in China if the Olympics had some connections with Cricket or bollywood.Indians know that their country will have an extremely dismal performance like most of the previous olmypics in more than two decades. What a shame that a country with an exploding population and more and more thousands to add to it cannot produce competent sportsmen to bag medals at this grand international event. Every second parent and their female child would aspire to become an international model and particiapte in some stupid international beauty pagent. The male child would aspire to either become some boring IT professional,a money -sucking,unethical ugly doctor/a MNC slave or a winner at a corporate backed television dance and music competition where everything has already been set up and there is no element of competency. All these are just for nothing but fast money and the hardwork and talent required in all these does not match to that of becoming an olympic gold medalist. Those who have made some mark in sports are glamourised more as model figure and are also expected to land up in inferior bollywood someday.Example Sania Mirza. The rest interested in sports go to cricket to indulge in politics and become great politicians and sleep in a bed of money which they take for granted.More and more Indian parents are in the queue to send their children to realms of shallowness, vulgarity and low level of aesthetics inculcated under the auspices of bollywood.

Well said and most Indian sportsmen who have gone to Beijing will do so much of shopping that it would require two saperate planes to fly the same flight back to India. Many will think that we have won all the medals in Beijing and shall be amazed. Feel extreme pain in saying this but this is the truth.

Today is Saturday, so you have enough time to lay back in your arm chair and pass some comments. What is new in what you said? Please suggest some solutions and work towards that. At least do your part to improve the conditin of sprts here. Otherwise just keep quiet and enjoy cricket.
