Garuda - a driving coffin
by B Basu on Aug 18, 2008 05:25 PM  Permalink

Is it a 'plane, is it a bird? No, it's Superman. So went the tagline.
After seeing this marvel(!), do we ask "Is it a coffin, is it a tiffin-box, is it a beetle?".
In the video, it is clear that one person of nominal built is having enough difficulty in even entering into the cockpit(what else?). It is dwarfed by even the passing motorcycles on the road. Such cars - if at all it can be called one - will just get trampled on the roads of India.

Really it looks like coffin...no offences meant but u need to take into account the practicality as well. The boys would do well to contact some experianced engineers from car manufacturing companies so that this prototype can be finetuned into something practical...But chalo 4 ya efforts...Congrats! gr8 job

Way Forward ?????
by Namitha on Aug 09, 2008 10:30 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Do you guys really think this is the way forward ????? ... put in and engine that cat go beyond 3 km /hr!!!!!!! Please note that there was a stone visible to prevent the "CAR" from moving when stationary !!!!! Nothing in this is actually worth this coverage....What is the difference between you guys and roadside mechanics???? This is the work of a 6 year old mechanic....not of engineers...Looks like you spent all your budget on publicity than engineering.....Anyways never the correct vision for a project.

I am sorry guys, no offence!

But, the car looks like, it is running down the slope !?

Watch the video again!

I was wondering, how long those fragile cycle wheels can bear the weight of that three wheeler!

Super car
by R K on Aug 08, 2008 02:31 PM  Permalink

It is good effort. But still miles to go for developing a really practical model: ie. size, comfort, speed, cruising power, safety...

Great Job Guys!
by Sayyad on Aug 08, 2008 01:56 PM  Permalink

It's great to see our fellow engineers in India did this job. Very well done!

This is just a prototype and need not be into production...but the amount of effort and and amount of knowledge they would gained is enormous!

Great job guys your work will never go waste!
