Oh Come engineers !
by sunny p jacob on Aug 11, 2008 09:28 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Let us make cars and not coffins! A lawn mover is a lwn mover and it sticking it on bicycle wheels won't make it a car for sure. If you drive it on the road , you will be sucked in the vortex of big vehicles. So develope an ENGINE which is different from existing engines which can deliver power at low fuel consumption. Not assembling something already there and claiming 'Invention'. I congratulate the boys for their efforts but suggest advisor to help these boys to develope their own engines and not to borrow Honda engines.

Yes, you are right, but only on one part. Nothing in the world (except Nature) comes without borrowing. When Human body components are transplanted to give life. When wright brothers invented the Aeroplane, do you think that they made a new engine for that. I do not see any mistake in borrowing components for a good purpose.

I think we citizens must help them to achieve the next and avoid discouraging them. Many inventions in India are lying in the dust, we have to give a new life to them.

Its Rubbish
by kamal on Aug 11, 2008 08:07 AM  Permalink

Its quite astonishing to see that some people in this blog appreciating this effort. It is certainly a coffin car good for nothing. It runs on 97CC engine which in motor cycles will give 60kmpl easily. There is nothing practical in this since the tyres are so small the friction on them is less that increases fuel efficiency its weight is quite less it adds to fuel efficiency CVT it adds that will make it 180kmpl. If it at least 500kg and say that it gives 180kmpl its a good invention.. but with this garbage saying 180kmpl is absolutely ludicrous to say the least.

Coffin or Car !!
by A. Swaminathan on Aug 11, 2008 12:16 AM  Permalink

Coffin or Car ? First define the purpose of the car. Is it for live people or for carrying dead people. We have lot more facilities, with wheel, without power to carry dead body. We Indian, may not need one like this, for that purpose.

very true
by Guest on Aug 10, 2008 11:01 PM  Permalink

sad to hear people talk like "jerks" with their most useless comments. Such a "good work", if not appreciated, at least does not deserve to be torn apart in such insane manner. Even if the car may not run with good speed, AC, music etc etc i'm sure there will be something the auto makers can learn from their experiment which would enhance their future designs by atleast 1%, after all not even a moped gives 180kmpl in the best of conditions. And if this happens the efforts made by the guys are worth a million dollars.

why indians are last in innovation
by samarame on Aug 10, 2008 10:32 PM  Permalink

Just a glimpse of comments in this section will clear, why indians are last in innovation. We indians by default pull anyone who creates something "new". Thats a huge bane for our country. Why cant we appreciate another indian for his work regardless of his caste, religion, region and financial status.
