It is not worthy unless they prove that it is really worth riding out this machine on Indian roads. Having a car which runs 180kmpl doesn't mean anything otherwise.
I would advice the manufacturers to do some all India or All Karnataka tour on this car to prove to the world that this car too can be driven around and is practically feasible. Without this it is nothing than a Summer project.
Engineering students are no kids. They are supposed to make things in a better fashion than the local mechanics. If a engineering college team in US or Europe made such a device they would be laughed out of the school. They may even get their admission revoked.

dont compare with USA...we don't have that much funding. they tried to achieve something...lets appreciate.

yeah i dont why rediff right a home about it, its not commercially viable, its not even a concept vehicle

don't right rubbish. Whenever an invention is done, it is done in its full form. prototype of any invention always look like. This should be improved to suit the commercially available form. Even wright brothers invented aeroplane, that flight not a Boeing plane. Appreciate the effort first.

Intentionally designed like that. 'Speed kills', they say. So when you meet with your fate, there is no need to extricate you from a mess of metal, rubber, flesh and blood. Straight away you're carted away to the graveyard/crematorium. Those boys sure are sharp. Wotsay?

another way to reduce the Indian population..gift each one with Garuda and also license to travel on highways. well designed Rashtriya Vidyalaya College of Engineering, Bangalore..keep it up..

Look at the stills as they acheived something..try with a rickshaw you will get more than 180kmpl

guys its just a concept vehicle.... basicalyy to spread d idea behind to giv dat feature of mileage...they r not puttin dis design to market men!! wat they hav done is a test... and its a costly proj...so wit the available fundin they cud not make a bmw out of it!!!
These guys are funny, they spend 3.5 lakh to create a coffin with 3 cycle tyres??!!!:-)...
Is it a joke or this university didnt have any other better project to do ? 97 CC !!!?? Even the weakest engine of maruti 800 has a 800CC engine, believe maruti800 is so sub standard car it will never be allowed to be on road on any first world country. and about 180kmpl, it always depends on the power of the engine and body weight...no wonder why they dream of reaching 500kmpl , perhaps then it would be a cycle rickshaw fitted with same engine...

dude 97CC is a 100CC bike engine after displacement, LoL and a 100 CC bike cannot carry 2 ppl properly
This is not a car manufactured by a big auto company. This is designed by students at an engineering college. How do you expect them to build a fully commercial snazzy looking vehicle with the funds/money they have ? They have made an experiment and have succeeded in building a vehicle which can run at 180 km per litre. I think they are worthy of being appreciated in a country completely devoid of any creativity or people who try something different. Most of the people are losers like here on rediff who have way too much free time on their hands, just sit back in their arm chairs and write comments which they think are witty and clever. How pathetic !

dude u can go and buy a santro for 3.5 lakh LoL and they made this crap, talking abt engineering, the DTSi engine patented to Bajaj india was done by IIT students, no company has been able to do that, this is engineering.
The students must be encouraged for sure, but this looks more like a 1925 era car model. This might be a good start but not acceptable in this century. I dont know how the students and all the people involved in the project can justify themselves, that this is indeed a car. The School system and the Govt are also to be blamed for not encouraging. what ever...
