Coffin
by Suresh S on Aug 15, 2008 05:32 PM  Permalink

hey....the Coffin comes again in front line. Nothing to discourage the innovation. But the design is too childish to ride on road.

This is a DISGRACE
by Venkatesa Prabhu on Aug 15, 2008 05:15 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Why is Rediff so much acclaiming this device? Sure, young men need to be encouraged. But to put this on REDIFF for the last several days, and that too on the home page, smacks of something more than meets the eye! Will Rediff kindly explain the reasons for it? Or becoz you own the site you can put up anything you would want and that the readers should skip wht they do NOT wish to read.

Yes I agree it is a coffin that moves at 180 Kmpl
by Godwin Tenzing on Aug 15, 2008 04:26 PM  Permalink

My first impression was, it is a coffine. Common guys, I don't see any innovation in this. You are attaching two cycle tyres to a coffin and you have a mottor to get it running. If you want to innovate then spend more time in research and put all your efforts to create something that is reasonably appealing to end users.

What is the point of creating coffins for the sake of creating something. I don't see this reaching the market and I don't see anyone buying this.

not workable
by vivek kakkar on Aug 13, 2008 12:56 PM  Permalink

though the efforts of bangalore boys to design a super fuel efficient car is commendable, it is certainly not a practical idea..
their choice of engine, body parts etc was based on the cheapness of price and local availability. one wonders how effective it will be when it comes to 'real; usage. the design is surely to put off any user.. who wants to sit inside a coffin?? the entire time, money, energy they spent may get them some recognition in college..ask them if they are really serious about taking the next step?

Suman : This car does NOT need fuel. Just a good bit of wind will drive the car forward, backward or even sidewards. It is a great invention, nothing less.

180 kmpl car
by pabitra chatterjee on Aug 12, 2008 05:53 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

just reading the comments here is enough to tell us why the best brains leave india. i cannot imagine any country where so many people are ready to pull down students and in language that overflows with bitterness and barely conceals jealosy. only one or two have dared congratulate the students, and none have given suggestions. in the west, you'd probably have a dozon automobile engineers asking the boys to get in touch with them. they encourage, we condemn. the results are for all to see.

Shame!
These are the guys who dont DO anything, other than writing nonsense from cybercafes. Just because THEY cant do anything good or commendable, they think others are the same.
Whether the Garuda finds a market or not is not the question; Students have attempted to show something by doing something is the question. They have proved that they are apart from the type of people here, who have commented through their back-ends!!
If you cant appreciate, its better NOT to depreciate either!!
If you do depreciate, then make sure it is a constructive comment towards the betterment of things.
Not the filth that you people are bringing out of your mouths!
These guys only talk from the wrong end.
Yuk!!

You show this to 1000 people, and ask for honest opion. atleast 95% will think it is moving coffin. Be Honest, We are all proud to be Indian, but be a wise Indian who can change the world, not chaning coffins.

Looks like you are one of the person who writes nonsense from cybercafes.

They are not school students, they are mechanical students training to be professionals. Probably their achievement is good enough in their college level. But if you want to put some article in a website like rediff.com which is seen internationally (by Indians) , then you need to have some merits in what you put.

I am not saying these guys can’t come up with a better product or innovation. But these guys have taken short cut, they should have done more research in developing something that is practical and appealing to end users.

I can understand they may not have the cash to invest in research. But what about the tyres, who wants to ride a car with cycle tyres. This is where they get 180 miles / litter, so I don’t see any innovation.

I don’t think Cycle tyres can travel or last a speed anything above 20 km/hr. I think we are better off walking.

Others would have done the same thing if they thought about a cycle tyre in a car.
