Intelligensia of india is getting into real life challenges. But please remember few points
(a) intelligensia is not limited to IIT/IIM
(b) work hard to keep away from corruptions/power greed. its a competition of who influences whom
(c) end of the day, success will depned on how many indians beleive in india and how much

This is what I do not like about India.
by Vishnu Sharma on Aug 06, 2008 12:14 AM  Permalink

They make Gold mingle with Shi*t.

The last thing we want is IIM-Grads being influenced by Marxist ideology.

Marxists should be kept away from IIMs and IITs in the same manner a person avoids a rabid dog.

Better than BJP! They are discussing if Nehru is to be blamed or Jinnah or Gandhi and why Prithviraj did what he did. Tomorrow they will discuss if Huen Sang did the right thing by visiting India and next day topic is Mauryas.

All communist ruled states are poorest-not true
by Biplab on Aug 05, 2008 06:54 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I don?t know about Kerala, Tripura, but I know about West Bengal. Please check the facts before writing.
West Bengal is in top position in production in rice, vegetables, fish in the country and second in potatao. Last financial year it has produced 150 lakh metric ton rice and 120 lakh metric ton vegetables. It is in third position in per hectre agricultural production in the country, after Punjub and Haryana. Its SDP growth rate is second highest in the country, after Karnataka. Kolkata region in third position in country?s total GDP, after Mumbai and Delhi region. Among country?s top 10 fastest growing regions West Bengal has two regions (Kolkata and Durgapur-Asansole) Though it has has several problems like other states but it is not like such kind of state like Maharastra where one side industry and other side farmers are committing suicide daily. It got second highest investment in 2007, after Gujrat. In last 6-7 years Bengal sees huge amount of investments in several sectors like IT, steel, agro products, manufacturing industry like motor car, bike, auto component, shipyard, wagon, railway coach etc, real estate, retail etc. In last year it got 1 lakh cr investment proposal in steel sector only which is third highest in country after Orissa and Jharkhand. One by one projects of Jindal, Videocon, Jai balaji and others are coming up.

If a state like West Bengal is poorest then what about Bihar, Jharkhand, Orissa, Chhattisgarh, MP etc?

IIM graduates only understand the money language. Don't expect patriotism or loyalty from these brilliant lots.In a way the common masses are still going to be cheated, rather in a sophisticated way through this approach.

I don't think so. If they earn more, is because they got into and pass out of a more reputed college. How does that make them more greedy? Also if tomorrow you are offered more money (ethically of course) for the work you do, won't you take it? I don't find any relation between a college and being or not being a patriot.

Politics is meant for thick skinned people. These opportunist guys are better off managing a company. At least I don't want to contribute to their salaries from the tax I pay because the returns are not guaranteed.

Better approach...
by Ravi on Aug 05, 2008 03:53 PM  Permalink

To increase the efficiency of this project the IIM's must target individual politicians across parties rather than a specific political party. This process sounds more focussed approach. Let the IIM graduates decide their mentor. Better to keep the criminal minds away from innocent brilliant minds if possible. Lets try to give them the best exposure through this focussed and cleaner approach.

why not karat, Bardhan and Gurudasgupa
by lalit kedia on Aug 05, 2008 03:16 PM  Permalink

IIM should invite Karat, Bardhan and Gurudasgupta to teach, how to call Bandh, How to form union in industries who are already well paid and not for real unorganised workers, How to oppose everything US centric and still invite them to their state for IT and other industry.
if these greats are given chance as faculty in IIM I am sure IIM will churn out political MBA's.
