are we floating when we travel
by suri jogi on Aug 02, 2008 12:01 PM  Permalink

with all this up in the air we are losing the sight of the fact that we still have to drive on the roads. when will goods roads come. is it right for us to spend 6 lacs on a car, pay our taxes and then drive on roads which are not even worth paying the toll for??????

Better to appreciate
by lalrinkima on Aug 02, 2008 11:56 AM  Permalink

Better to appreciate than being too critical. India is recovering from the wounds and injury under the foreign rule. Now we are catching up. Its no joke a family of over 1bn to grow. We have to be patient and appreciate our progress and acknowledge the commitment of many hardcore nationalists.

India is now in the hands of capatilist. So, neither the government nor the rich society will look after the people. It is fate of india again same as in the hands of foreign people. All our government machinery are working for rich people to make them richer and kill the innocent people. I have not seen any statement after the Goutami incident from railway minister, but I know one railway minister years back resigned because of such a type of incident. I am not expecting now a days politicians to do the same.
What you say is right.

how thoughtful MA,you have touched the real nerv.basic requirement should be given first priority, rest other can follow suit.here many minds are working simulteneously but separatly.they are not coming together, not taking all the promlem collectively and deciding the priority.thus the minds may be superlative, but it wont give ve result unless works in a cohesive manner.the energy, the force, the intentions shown in limited area, should be expanded and consideration should be given for basic needs first.unless it is done, the development which are claimed by these politicians would be in certain pockets only and not for all.

Wireless or Wimax
by A K on Aug 01, 2008 11:03 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Personally I would prefer Wi Fi Lan when it is available, its free. In Saudi Arabia most of the Coffee Shops and Malls have free wireless. Now here they are discussing making the bigger cities WiMax.

Blow ur eye cover away. If ever you get a chance to visit any Middle Eastern bedouin country with 6th century principles, I would advice take a chance. It will really be an eye-opener. The ME world is far ahead of any normal Third World imagination. Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Kuwait, Bahrain, Muscat, Jeddah, Riyadh are more advanced than some European or American cities.

Hehehehe !!! advanced in what sense ? Just saw a BBC show on the TV highlighting the troubles faced by tourist & in majority of the cases jailed due to "ridiculous" strange 5th century practices esp in the most modern and "liberal" dubai, other places are not worth even mentioning. A lot of things are banned in Dubai which are considered very normal in west ex even boozing and the list continues.

BTW, Saudi is perhaps the only nation in the whole world where there are no Legitimate women drivers.

Strange,Stone aged, Funny, Fanatic, Religious countries, all referring to outdated practices.

3G Services
by M Srinivas on Aug 01, 2008 10:43 PM  Permalink

3G services has great potential. Once 3G services are introduced, broadband internet 1 mbps or more is possible through mobile phone or wireless modem. The users will be happy at the high speed broadband internet that too over mobile phone or wireless modem attached to laptop or desktop.

We are late.. but still we are good.
by Ramesh Babu on Aug 01, 2008 09:58 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Eventhough we are late to have 3G services, we are still can make better. Video call is one of the feature of the 3G, but it seldom used across the world. In India customer's are price sensitive, not sure how it can succeed in India. I guess only corporates can afford it.

Its not only for Video Call. 3G can make Internet on mobiles very fast and there you will see much of the uses of this technology. But yes, prices need to be afforable.
